Description
Foreliggende oppfinnelse angår en fremgangsmåte for fremstil-
ling av metakrolein og metakrylsyre ved katalytisk gassfaseoksydasjon av t-butylalkohol ved bruk av molekylært oksygen ved 200°C til 450°C.
Det er kjent en rekke forskjellige fremgangsmåter for kataly-
tisk oksydasjon av propylen eller isobutylen til de tilsvarende umettede aldehyder. Japansk patent nr. 32049/72 beskriver en katalysator bestående av molybden, antimon, vismut, jern,
nikkel og oksygen, samt en katalysator hvor man også har til-
satt tinn. Når propylen blir oksydert katalytisk ved hjelp av denne katalysator, oppnår man en total selektivitet til akrolein og akrylsyre på 90 til 91%, mens omdannelsen av pro-
pylen er 95%, men mengden av biprodukter er relativt stor,
idet den totale selektivitet på karbonmonoksyd og karbondiok-
syd er på fra 6. til 8%. Når man på den annen side oksyderer isobutylen ved hjelp av denne katalysator, så dannes karbonmo-nooksyd og karbondioksyd i så store mengder at man senker se-lektiviteten med hensyn til metakrolein. Sett fra et indust-
rielt standpunkt vil man kunne oppnå gunstige resultater såsom bedring med hensyn til produktivitet og fjerning av reaksjons-varme ved å undertrykke dannelsen av biproduserte gasser så
meget som mulig. En fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av metakrolein ved gassfaseoksydasjon av t-butylalkohol er beskrevet i japansk patent nr. 32814/73. Den katalysator man bruker i nevnte fremgangsmåte inneholder tallium, men utbyttet av metakrolein i et katalysatorsystem som ikke inneholder tallium er ca. 40%.
Av annen relevant teknikk på dette område skal det henvises
til DE-AS 1.941.514 og DE-AS 2.165.751 som beskriver omsetning av butenblandinger med molekylært oksygen over katalysatorer av blandingsoksydtypen ved temperaturer fra 200°C til 450°C.
Videre beskrives det i GB-PS 1.298.784 oksydasjon for fremstilling av umettede karbonylforbindelser i nærvær av katalysatorer i form av blandingsoksyder der det fremstilles akrolein og akrylsyre fra propen og metakrolein fra isobuten.
Foreliggende oppfinnelse har til hensikt å tilveiebringe en
fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av metakrolein og metakrylsyre ved katalytisk gassfaseoksydasjon av t-butylalkohol ved bruk av molekylært oksygen ved 200°C til 450°C og denne fremgangsmåte karakteriseres ved at man benytter en katalysator med den generelle formel:
hvori X er minst ett av alkalimetallene kalium, rubidium og cesium, Y er minst ett av metallene palladium, kobolt, uran, germanium og titan hvorved indeksene a til h er atomforhold, slik at når a=12 er b fra 0,2 til 20, c fra 0,2 til 12, d fra 0,2 til 12, e fra 0,2 til 12, f fra 0 til 20, g fra 0,01 til 4 og h fra 0 til 6, og i bestemt i henholdet til oksydasjonstilstanden.
Fortrinnsvis er, når a=12, b fra 0,5 til 20, c fra 0,5 til 6, d fra 0,5 til 6, e fra 0,5 til 6, f fra 0 til 12, g fra 0,01 til 2 mens h fra 0,01 til 3.
Katalysatoren som benyttes ved fremgangsmåten ifølge foreliggende oppfinnelse kan fremstilles ved kjente fremgangsmåter. Som kilde for molybden for fremstilling av katalysatoren er det ønskelig med et oksyd eller en forbindelse som under oppvarming kan omdannes til oksyd. En slik forbindelse er ammoniummolybdat. Som kilder for antimon og tinn, er det foretrukket å bruke oksyder, hydratoksyder og klorider. Som kilder for vismut, jern, nikkel og alkalimetall, er det ønskelig å bruke oksyder eller forbindelser som ved oppvarming kan omdannes til oksyder, såsom nitrater, karbonater eller hydrok-syder. Ved fremstilling av katalysatoren kan man bruke bærestoffer. Slike bærestoffer eller underlagsstoffer er silisiumdioksyd, aluminiumoksyd eller silisiumkarbid. Atomforholdet for hver enkelt komponent i katalysatoren kan varieres innen-for de områder som er nevnt ovenfor. Når tinn tilsettes katalysatoren vil dennes mekaniske styrke øke, og katalysatorens levetid bli lenger. Den mengde tinn som tilsettes kan med
hensyn til atomforhold varieres fra f=0,5 til 12 når a er 12.
Ved å tilsette palladium, kobolt, uranium, germanium, wolfram
eller titan til katalysatoren, kan reaksjonstemperaturen senkes mens man forbedrer utbyttet av metakrolein. Som kilder for disse metaller kan man bruke oksyder eller forbindelser som omdannes til oksyder ved oppvarming. Den mengde som tilsettes av disse metaller er fortrinnsvis med hensyn til atomforhold slik at h=0,01 til 3 når a er 12..
Når man gjennomfører foreliggende reaksjon kan utgangsfor-bindelsen t-butylalkohol fortrinnsvis fortynnes med.inerte gasser. Som inerte gasser kan man bruke nitrogen, damp eller karbondioksyd. Spesielt har det vist seg at damp gunstig bedrer utbyttet. Som oksygenkilde kan man for oksydasjonen bruke luft eller luft anriket på oksygen. Konsentrasjonen av t-butylalkohol kan varieres i området fra 1 til 20 volum-%. Oksygenkonsentrasjonen kan også varieres, i området fra 1 til
2 0 volum-%.
Reaksjonstrykket er vanligvis fra normaltrykk til flere atmos-færer. Reaksjonstemperaturen varierer fra 200°C til 450°C, spesielt foretrukket er området fra 250°C til 400°C.. Kontakt-tiden er fortrinnsvis fra 0,5 til 10 sek. Reaksjonen kan enten utføres i et fast sjikt eller i et hvirvelsjikt.
De følgende eksempler illustrerer oppfinnelsen. Med "deler" forstås vektdeler, og utbyttet er beregnet ved hjelp av føl-
gende ligning:

Eksempel 1
I 200 deler vann ble det suspendert 27,6 deler fint pulver av antimonpentaoksyd og det ble tilsatt en oppløsning av 42,5 de-
ler ammoniummolybdat oppløst i 200 deler vann. Deretter til-
satte man oppløsningen en oppløsning av 1,0 deler kaliumnitrat
oppløst i 10 deler vann, en oppløsning av 48,5 deler vismutnitrat oppløst i 50 deler 10% salpetersyre og en oppløsning av 16,4 deler jern-III-nitrat og 5,9 deler nikkelnitrat oppløst
i 100 deler vann i den angitte rekkefølge. Tilslutt tilsatte man 45 deler silisiumdioksyd som bærestoff i form av silisiumdioksydsol. Den oppnådde suspensjon ble fordampet til tørrhet, tørket ved 120°C og deretter pelletert og så kalsinert ved 500°C i 6 timer. Katalysatoren ble pakket i et reaksjonsrør, oppvarmet til 305°C i et luftbad og man tilførte en utgangs-gass inneholdende 5% t-butylalkohol, 12% oksygEn, 48% nitrogen og 3 5% vanndamp (alt i mol-%) inn i katalysatorlaget som hadde en temperatur på 385°C og gjennom dette med en kontakttid på 3,6 sek.. Den dannede gassen ble undersøkt ved hjelp av gasskromatografi og viste et totalt utbytte av metakrolein og metakrylsyre på 78,0%.
Eksempel 2
Da reaksjonen ble utført ved å bruke samme katalysator som i eksempel 1, bortsett fra at man ytterligere hadde tilsatt 0,78 deler cesiumnitrat, og å holde temperaturen på 380°C,
og ellers bruke de samme betingelser som angitt i eksempel 1, viste det seg at det totale utbytte av metakrolein og metakrylsyre var 81,5%.
Eksempel 3
I 200 deler vann ble det suspendert 27,6 deler fint pulver av antimonpentaoksyd og det ble så tilsatt en oppløsning av 42,5 deler ammoniummolybdat oppløst i 200 deler vann. Deretter tilsatte man en oppløsning av 2,0 deler kaliumnitrat oppløst i 10 deler vann, en oppløsning av 29,1 deler vismutnitrat oppløst i 50 deler 10% salpetersyre og en oppløsning av 8,2 deler ferrinitrat samt 11,8 deler nikkelnitrat oppløst i 100 deler vann i den angitte rekkefølge. Videre tilsatte man en oppløsning av 1.4,4 deler tinnklorid oppløst i 50 deler 10% salpetersyre til blandingen, hvoretter man tilslutt tilsatte 45 deler silisiumdioksydsol. Den oppnådde suspensjon ble fordampet til tørrhet, tørket ved 120°C og deretter pelletert og så kalsinert ved 500°C i 6 timer.
Ved å bruke denne katalysator og å holde temperaturen på 37 5°C med betingelser ellers som angitt i eksempel 1, var det totale utbytte av metakrolein og metakrylsyre 79,0%.
Eksempel 4
I 200 deler vann ble det suspendert 27,6 deler fint pulver av antimonpentaoksyd og det ble så tilsatt en oppløsning av 42,5 deler ammoniummolybdat oppløst i 200 deler vann. Man tilsatte deretter en oppløsning av 1,0 deler kaliumnitrat og 0,78
deler cesiumnitrat oppløst i 20 deler vann, en oppløsning av 48,5 deler vismutnitrat oppløst i 50 deler 10% salpetersyre,
en oppløsning av 16,4 deler jern-III-nitrat, 5,9 deler nikkelnitrat og 11,6 deler koboltnitrat oppløst i 100 deler vann, og deretter en oppløsning av 0,92 deler palladiumnitrat oppløst i 20 deler vann i den angitte rekkefølge. Man tilsatte tilslutt 45 deler silisiumdioksyd som bærestoff i form av en silisiumdioksydsol. Den oppnådde suspensjon ble fordampet til tørrhet og tørket ved 120°C, deretter pelletert og så kalsinert ved 500°C under en luftstrøm i 6 timer.
Eksempel 5
Det ble fremstilt en katalysator på samme måte som i eksempel 4, bortsett fra at man ikke tilsatte noe koboltnitrat og brukte 1,5 deler rubidiumnitrat istedetfor cesiumnitrat.
Eksempel 6
Det ble fremstilt en katalysator som angitt i eksempel 4, bortsett fra at man ikke tilsatte noe cesiumnitrat, koboltnitrat og palladiumnitrat, men istedetfor tilsatte 1,05 deler ger-maniumoksyd.
Eksempel 7
Det ble fremstilt en katalysator som angitt i eksempel 4, bortsett fra at man ikke tilsatte noe cesiumnitrat, palladiumnitrat og koboltnitrat, men istedetfor tilsatte 3,2 deler titanoksyd.
Eksempel 8
Det ble fremstilt en katalysator som angitt i eksempel 4, bortsett fra at det ikke ble tilsatt noe cesiumnitrat, palladiumnitrat og koboltnitrat, men istedetfor tilsatte 10,0 deler-uranylnitrat.
Eksempel 9
I 200 deler vann ble det suspendert 27,6 deler finpulverisert antimonpentaoksyd, hvoretter det ble tilsatt en oppløsning av 42,5 deler ammoniummolybdat oppløst i 200 deler vann. Man tilsatte deretter en oppløsning av 2,0 deler kaliumnitrat oppløst i 10 deler vann, en oppløsning av 29,1 deler vismutnitrat oppløst i 50 deler 10% salpetersyre, en oppløsning av 8,2 deler jern-III-nitrat og 11,8 deler nikkelnitrat oppløst i 100 deler vann samt en oppløsning av 5,0 deler uranylnitrat oppløst i 20 deler vann i den angitte rekkefølge. Deretter tilsatte men en oppløsning av 14,4 deler tinnklorid oppløst i 50 deler'10% salpetersyre og tilslutt 45 deler silsiumdiok-sydsol. Den oppnådde suspensjon ble fordampet til tørrhet, tørket ved 120°C, derpå pelletert og så kalsinert ved 500°C
i 6 timer. Produktet ble brukt som en katalysator.
Eksempel 10
Det ble fremstilt en katalysator som angitt i eksempel 9, bortsett fra at intet uranylnitrat ble tilsatt, men istedetfor brukte man 5,8 deler koboltnitrat.
Eksempel 11
Det ble fremstilt en katalysator på samme måte som angitt i eksempel 9, bortsett fra at man ytterligere tilsatte 0,46 deler palladiumnitrat og 1,6 deler titanoksyd.
Hver katalysator fremstilt som angitt i eksemplene 4 til 10 ble brukt i en reaksjon hvor man brukte en blandet utgangs-gass inneholdende 5% t-butylalkohol, 12% oksygen, 48% nitrogen og 35% vanndamp (alt i mol-%) i et katalysatorlag som ble holdt på den nedenfor angitte temperatur og ved en total kontakttid på 3,6 sek. De dannede gasser ble analysert og man fikk et resultat som angitt i tabell 1.
Claims (3)
1. Fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av metakrolein og metakrylsyre ved katalytisk gassfaseoksydasjon av t-butylalkohol ved bruk av molekylært oksygen ved 200°C til 450°C, karakterisert ved at man benytter en katalysator med den generelle formel:
hvori X er minst ett av alkalimetallene kalium, rubidium og cesium, Y er minst ett av metallene palladium, kobolt, uran, germanium og titan hvorved indeksene a til h er atomforhold, slik at når a=12 er b fra 0,2 til 20, c fra 0,2 til 12, d fra 0,2 til 12, e fra 0,2 til 12, f fra 0 til 20, g fra 0,01 til 4 og h fra 0 til 6, og i bestemt i henholdet til oksydasjonstilstanden.
2. Fremgangsmåte ifølge krav 1, karakterisert ved at atomforholdene a til h i katalysatoren er slik at når a=12, så er b fra 0,5 til 20, c=0,5 til 6, d=0,5 til 6, e=0,5 til 6, f=0 til 12, g=0,01 til 2, mens h=0,01 til 3.
3. Fremgangsmåte ifølge krav 2, karakterisert ved at komponenten Y er palladium.
