Description
Fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av beta-diketoner.
Foreliggende oppfinnelse vedrører nye beta-diketoner av den alminnelige formel:
R.CH^CO.CHRi.CO.CH^.R2
hvor R, Ri og R<2> er ens eller forskjellige acykliske kull vannstof f rester med 1—21 kullstoffatomer, hvorunder summen av disses antall av kullstoffatomer er minst 4.
I henhold til oppfinnelsen fremstilles diketoner av den ovenfor angitte struktur - formel ved at syrer av formelen: R.CR3.COOH, R<i>CH2COOH og R<2>COOH hvor R, R<1> og R<2> har den ovenfor angitte betydning og/eller anhydrider av disse syrer, kondenseres ved temperaturer av
150—220° C i nærvær av surstoffholdige borforbindelser, og herunder fjernes even-tuelt under reaksjonen frigjort vann ettersom dette dannes, den på denne måte oppnådde reaksjonsblanding behandles med et hydrolyseringsmiddel og beta-diketonene skilles fra hydrolyseringsproduktene.
Ved dannelsen av diketonene fra car-bonsyrer avspaltes fra tre molekyler ett molekyl kullsyre og to molekyler vann.
De anvendte katalysatorer er surstoffholdige borforbindelser av sur art resp. skikket til å danne forbindelser av sur art, dvs. som i prosessen ved reaksjon med OH-eller COOH-grupper danner estere eller anhydrider. Der kommer i betraktning an-organiske borforbindelser som boroxyd, borsyre og salter av borsyre med svake eller flyktige baser, som sinkborat og ammoni-umpentaborat, organiske borforbindelser, som f. eks. estere av borsyre og blandingsanhydrider av borsyren og organiske syrer, f. eks. trimethylesteren, triethylesteren eller mannitolesteren av borsyre, bland-ingsanhydridet av borsyre og eddiksyre og blandingsanhydrider av borsyre og høyere fettsyrer. Boraks og borforbindelser som virker oksyderende, som perborater, er mindre skikket.
Fremgangsmåten kan gjennomføres ved normalt eller nedsatt trykk. Reaksjonsblandingen kan holdes på blandingens koketemperatur og den avdestillerende car-bonsyre kan kondenseres og etter fjernelse av vann atter tilføres reaksjonsblandingen. Under opphetningen er det fordelaktig med gjennomledning av en inert gass, slik at frigjort vann føres bort. Man kan også anvende et oppløsningsmiddel med skikket kokepunkt. Oppløsningsmidlet avdestilleres derpå delvis, sammen med evtl. dannet vann, der kondenseres og skilles fra vannet, hvorpå det helt eller delvis atter tilføres reaksjonsblandingen. Etter at kondenseringen er tilendebragt behandles reaksjonsblandingen med et hydrolyseringsmiddel, fortrinnsvis hett vann, og residuet renses, f. eks. ved dekantering og destillering.
Ved fremstillingen av produktene i henhold til oppfinnelsen kan man anvende syreanhydrider som utgangsmateriale og boroxyd eller borsyre som katalysator. Man kan også anvende syrer som utgangsmateriale, men reaksjonen forløper da lang-sommere enn når man går ut fra syreanhydrider. I mange tilfelle vil man imidlertid foretrekke anvendelsen av syrer ut fra økonomiske overveielser.
Syrer, som man kan anvende som så-danne eller i form av deres anhydrider ved kondenseringen, er f. eks. uforgrenede mettede monocarbonsyrer, som propionsyre, smørsyre, baldriansyre, kapronsyre, kaprylsyre, pelargonsyre, kaprinsyre, laurinsyre, myristinsyre, palmitinsyre og stearinsyre, forgrenede mettede monocarbonsyrer, som pivalinsyre og isokapronsyre og umettede monocarbonsyrer, som 4-hexensyre, oljesyre, linolsyre og erukasyre. Syrer som er umettede i endestilling som vinyleddiksyre, har en tilbøyelighet til å polymerisere hvis der da ikke treffes hensiktsmessige for-holdsregler.
Når kullvannstoffrestene er umettede, må man sørge for at polymerisering unn-gås i mest mulig grad. Polymerisering opp-står for det meste når graden av umettet-het er for høy. Således er fettsyrer som linolensyre og fettsyrer som inneholder konjugerte dobbeltbindinger, som kinesiske treoljefettsyrer eller oktadeka-9.11-dien-syre, mindre skikket. Blandinger av fettsyrer som inneholder et ikke for høyt inn-hold av slike syrer, f. eks. linolje, fettsyrer eller fettsyrer av fiskeoljer, kan man imidlertid anvende med godt resultat. Fettsyre med en dobbeltbinding, som oljesyre, eller med to ikke-konjugerte dobbeltbindinger, som linolsyre, er meget godt skikket. Fortrinnsvis anvendes blandinger som inneholder en betydelig mengde av disse fettsyrer, f. eks. fettsyrene av sojaolje, bom-ullsfrøolje, jordnøttolje, nepeolje eller tall-olje resp. de tilsvarende anhydrider.
Diketonene kan anvendes som mellom-produkter ved organiske synteser, særlig ved fremstilling av pyroner, og ved fremstillingen av bløtgjørelsesmidler, borolje o. 1. særlig når de inneholder mettede kullvannstof f kjeder som f. eks. 7-butyl-tride-cadion-(6,8), 9-hexyl-heptadecadion- (8, 10), 19-hexadecen-7'-ylheptatriacontadien-(9,28)-dion-(18,20), og 19-hexadecylhepta-triacontadion-( 18,20). De er også av betydning som tørkende komponenter i påstryk-ningsmidler, fernisser, linoleum og lignen-de produkter når de inneholder flere ganger umettede kullvannstof f kjeder, som f. eks. 19-hexadecadien-7', 10'-ylheptatria-contatetraen- (6,9,28,31) -dion- (18,20).
Fremstillingen av beta-diketoner er allerede beskrevet i «Journal of the Ameri-can Chemical Society» 67 (1945), sidene 284—286. Det dreier seg imidlertid her om forbindelser hvor i det minste en av restene R<1> og R<2> er hydrogen. Ved acetylaceton er de til og med alle hydrogen. I U.S. Patent
No. 2 395 102 beskrives beta-diketoner hvor R<1> er hydrogen. Sluttelig er det også fra
«Organic Reactions» (1954) Bd. VIII, sidene 101 og 109 kjent beta-diketoner, hvor i det minste en av restene R og R<2> er hydrogen, eller hvor summen av antallet av kullvannstoffatomer i R<1> og R<2> er mindre enn 4.
Produktene i henhold til oppfinnelsen består av farveløse krystaller eller av væs-ker, som alt etter deres molvekt er mere eller mindre viskose, og har farve som vari-erer fra lysegul til brun.
Oppfinnelsen skal klargjøres ved følg-ende eksempel.
Eksempel 1:
1 mol kapronsyreanhydrid (214.3 gr) ble opphetet med 5 % boroxyd (10,8 g) i ni timer ved atmosfæretrykk til 200° C under svak omrøring ved hjelp av en kvelstoff-strøm. Herunder dannes 7,5 g kullsyre. Derpå ble det fra denne reaksjonsblanding un- , der forminsket trykk avdestillert 52 g kapronsyre. Residuet ble befridd for boroxyd og andre ved opphetningen dannede borforbindelser, idet det ble vasket seks ganger med hett vann, og i tilslutning hertil destil-lert fraksjonert. Foruten noe kapronsyre fikk man en hovedfraksjon, som destillerte ved et trykk av 10,5 mm ved 175—178° C.
Denne fraksjon besto i det vesentlige av 7-butyltrideca-6,8-dion med etterfølg-ende konstanter:
ved behandling med terriklond viste produktet den for beta-diketoner karakteris-tiske mørkerøde farve.
Eksempel 2:
En blanding av 132 g propionsyreanhy-drid, 90 g smørsyre og 8 g borsyreanhydrid ble kokt under tilbakeløp i tre timer under atmosfæretrykk ved en temperatur av 140
—180° C, hvorunder det ble anvendt et re-aksjonskar som var forsynt med en lang fraksjoneringssøyle, og var anordnet i et oljebad, som var opphetet til 165—210° C. Ved denne behandling kunne propionsyre, og ikke-reagert smørsyre, avdestillere, mens det også ble fjernet kullsyre og vann. Reaksjonsblandingen ble derpå behandlet med hett vann, og boroxydet ble fjernet ved
gjentatt utvasking ved et trykk av 10 mm. På samme måte fikk man en fraksjon som kokte ved det nevnte trykk ved 96° C, og i det vesentlige besto av 4-methyl-octa-3,5-dion.
Eksempel 3: En blanding av 200 g kaprylsyreanhy-drid og 13 g boroxyd ble under gjennomles-ing av kvelstoff opphetet i åtte timer ved atmosfæretrykk til 205—210° C, hvorunder der ble fritt 6,8 g kullsyre. Reaksjonskaret ble i tilslutning hertil evakuert, hvorpå der ble avdestillert 74,3 g kaprylsyre ved 20 mm trykk.
Det erholdte residuum (131,5 g) ble hydrolysert og befridd for borsyre ved syv gangers koking med vann. Det tørkede residuum som veiet 114,4 g, ble fraksjonert i vakuum, hvorunder der erholdtes 51,5 g kaprylsyre og 41,3 g av en fraksjon som i det vesentlige besto av 9-hexyl-heptadeca-8,10-dion, og hvilken fraksjon gikk over under et trykk av 1 mm ved 173—180° C. Det viste seg at den hadde et syretall av 1,7 og en molekylvekt av 350 (beregnet verdi 352). Diketonet gav med ferriklorid en sterk rødfarving.
Eksempel 4: En blanding av 150 g oljesyre og 4,6 g borsyreanhydrid ble under forminsket trykk under 1 mm Hg opphetet i 20 timer til 200—210° C i et réaksjonskar forsynt med fraksjoneringssøyle. Søylen ble opphetet på en slik måte at det frigjorte vann og kulldioxyd kunne avdestillere, mens fettmaterialet strømmet tilbake i reak-s j onsblandingen.
Råproduktet hadde et syretall av 30 og et forsåpningstall av 105. For hydrolysering av alle under reaksjonen dannede organiske borforbindelser ble der kokt med vann, og der ble vasket inntil all den på denne måte dannede borsyre var fjernet.
For å fjerne de i produktet tilstedevær-ende frie fettsyrer ble produktet derpå opphetet i en destillasjonskolbe til 220° C og holdt ved denne temperatur ved 0,5 mm Hg i 20 minutter, hvorunder der ble avdestillert ca. 12 vektprosent.
Residuet besto i det vesentlige av dike-ton: 19-hexadec-7'.8'-enylheptatriaconta-9,10, 28.29-dien-18.20-dion og det hadde et syretall på 5, et forsåpningstall på 76 og en molekylvekt 789 (beregnet molekylvekt = 767.4). Eksempel 5: Fremgangsmåten etter eksempel 4 ble gjennomført, imidlertid med den forskjell at oljesyren ble erstattet med stearinsyre-anhydrid og ble opphetet i ti timer til 210° C. På denne måte fikk man med et godt utbytte diketoner: 19-hexadecyl-heptatriaconta-18.20-dion.
Eksempel 6: Fremgangsmåte etter eksempel 4 ble gjennomført, imidlertid med den forskjell at oljesyren ble erstattet med linolsyrean-hydrid og der ble opphetet i seks timer til 210° C.
På denne måte fikk man med godt utbytte diektoner: 19-hexadec-7'.8'-10'.ll'-dienylheptatria-conta-6.7, 9.10, 28.29, 31.32-tetraen-18.20-dion.
Claims (3)
1. Fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av nye beta-diketoner av formelen:
RCHj.CO.CHR1 .CO.CH,R2 hvor R, R<1> og R<2> er ens eller forskjellige acykliske kullvannstoffrester med 1—21 kullstoffatomer, hvorunder summen av disses tall av kullstoffatomer er minst 4, karakterisert ved at syrer av formelen : R.CH2.COOH, R^H^COOH og R<2>CE,C-OOH hvor R, R' og R<2> har den ovenfor angitte betydning og/eller anhydrider av disse syrer, kondenseres ved temperaturer av 150—220° C i nærvær av borforbindelser som inneholder surstoff, hvorunder evtl. under reaksjonen frigjort vann fjernes ettersom dette dannes, og den på denne måte oppnådde reaksjonsblanding behandles med et hydrolyseringsmiddel og beta-diketonene skilles fra hydrolyseirngspro-duktene.
2. Fremgangsmåte som angitt i påstand 1, karakterisert ved at bor-forbindelsen er borsyre eller boroksyd.
3. Fremgangsmåte som angitt i påstand 2, karakterisert ved at det som utgangsmateriale anvendes umettede syrer.
