Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a process for the production of a nutrient medium and pre-planting pot, and more particularly to such a process for the production of light, hygienic, pest-free, air-permeable, attractive, water-saving culture media and pots with stable physical and chemical properties for growing plants.
Conventional flower pots are usually made of plastic, snake wood, porcelain and the like and can be of various shapes, for example in the form of a bowl, a rod, a plate, a cube, a mat, a shelf, etc. When using flower pot plastic, this leads to pollution of the environment. Since plastic flower pots are waterproof, the excess water in a plastic flower pot will cause the roots of the plant to rot, thereby losing the topsoil. A snake wood flowerpot is expensive because snake wood is hard to come by. In addition, a heavy wood flowerpot is difficult to handle when moving or delivering and worm is often involved, with negative consequences for hygiene, appearance and longevity. A porcelain flowerpot is heavy, difficult to handle when moving or delivering, it is fragile and expensive and has a lower air capacity.
Conventional methods of growing potted plants utilize topsoil-based or non-topsoil nutrient media (soils) for keeping plants in flower pots. However, salts accumulate in topsoil, which is why pests and weeds grow more often when topsoil is used as a breeding ground. When a flower pot is filled with soil to serve as a nutrient medium for plants, such a pot is heavy and not easy to handle, which is unacceptable for flower pots intended for export, and the flower pots must be quarantined when transported abroad.
Non-topsoil based planting methods use chemically inactive materials such as sand, vermiculite stone, ornamental stone, pearl stone, peat, gravel, wood chips and the like. However, these materials are difficult to obtain, which is why these materials cannot be used economically for growing potted plants. Furthermore, these materials are not suitable for all potted plants, because their physical and chemical properties are still not very stable.
The present invention achieves the following objectives: (1) providing a method of manufacturing a nutrient medium (soil) and pot for growing any type of potted plant using coconut fibers; (2) manufacturing light, hygienic , pest-free, air-permeable culture media and pots with stable physical and chemical properties; (3) the production of nutrient media and pots that contribute to the rapid growth of potted plants; (4) solve the problem of excess coconut bark drainage.
De voordelen van de onderhavigeuitvinding blijken duidelijk uit Tabel l.Table 1 compares the culture conditions in a culture medium according to the present invention and in culture medium gravel. The advantages of the present invention are evident from Table 1.
Aangezien kokosbast goed verkrijgbaar is, is heteen goedkoop materiaal. The present invention utilizes coconut bark to obtain coconut fibers, which are fabricated using non-woven mesh through opening, netting and resin reinforcement techniques, the non-woven mesh then being stiffened by dipping it in resin while simultaneously feeding nutrients to the fabric. the non-woven gauze are added, after which the mixture is pressed into the desired shape. Since coconut bark is readily available, it is a cheap material. Because the culture media and pots are made from coconut fiber and resin, they are light and free from pests. The non-woven mesh of coconut fiber is air-permeable. Moreover, because nutrients are added, the culture media and pots prepared according to the present invention can be used directly for growing potted plants, without the need to apply topsoil or any other material to be used for growing plants. A culture medium and pot prepared in accordance with the present invention can be combined with decorative accessories to give the flower pot a more attractive appearance, while it can also be placed directly in the ground, thereby solving the waste problem of excess coconut bark.
Below follows a description of a method for applying the new invention to pot plants. Coconut fiber is obtained from coconut bark, which is then treated using the techniques and machines used in the production of non-woven gauze and which are immersed in a liquid mixture of saturated resin, nutrients and a binder, in this way a non-woven gauze to manufacture. The non-woven mesh is cut into the desired shape or processed in a thermosetting mold, according to the final purpose, and then placed in an oven and preheated to a temperature of 60 ° C for 10 minutes, followed by heating for 5 minutes to 180 ° C, so that the resin layer covers the coconut fibers evenly. After heating, the nonwoven mesh is taken out of the oven and then formed into finished culture media and pots of a desired shape and contents, and the products are allowed to cool naturally to room temperature. Different nutrients can be added to the liquid mixture for various purposes. Since the bulk density of the coconut fiber can be well regulated, water can be distributed evenly and quickly over the nutrient media and pots to be taken up by the potted plants.
From the attached comparison table 1 it appears that the physical and chemical properties of the nutrient medium and pot according to the present invention are better than that of conventional nutrient medium for pot plants. A finished culture medium and pot can be combined with other decorative accessories made of paper, porcelain, wood, bamboo, rattan or metal to make it look more valuable or beautiful or simpler.
While only one embodiment of the present invention has been described above, it will be appreciated that various modifications and modifications are possible without departing from the essence and scope of the invention.
