Werkwijze voor het stomplassen van thermoplastische kunststof-buizen met behulp van een verwarmingselement.
De onderhavige uitvinding heeft betrekking op een werkwijze voor het stomplassen van thermoplastische kunststofbuizen met behulp van een verwarmingselement, welke buizen vooral gebruikt worden voor afvalwater, vers water, melk, bier, en dergelijke, voor het transport van vaste stoffen en voor het beschermen 5 of koelen van elektrische kabels.
Het stomplassen met behulp van een verwarmingselement is de meest gebruikte verbindingswerkwijze voor buizen uit poly-etheen en polypropeen, die in hoofdzaak in aanmerking komen voor het gehele toepassingsgebied (Plastverarbeiter 1977» blz. 642). 10
Het lassen van thermoplastische kunststoffen heeft plaats met voorgeschreven werkwijzen (bijvoorbeeld Homoblad DVS 22 07 voor harde polyetheen).
Bij het stomplassen met behulp van een verwarmingselement worden de verbindingsvlakken van de te lassen delen tegen elkaar 15 gelegd of aangedrukt, aansluitend daarop met verminderde druk verwarmd tot de lastemperatuur en na het verwijderen van het verwarmingselement onder druk tezamengevoegd.
Het verwarmingselement bestaat gewoonlijk uit een elektrisch verwarmde metaalschijf. Het tot de lastemperatuur verwarmde 20 verwarmingselement wordt tussen de te lassen delen gebracht en de verbindingsvlakken worden aan beide zijden aangedrukt tegen het verwarmingselement. De aandrukkracht wordt in stand gehouden totdat de verbindingsvlakken volledig aanliggen tegen het verwarmingselement. Tot dit tijdstip is aan de gehele omtrek van 25 beide te lassen delen een verdikking aanwezig. Gedurende de daarop volgende opwarmtijd wordt de aandrukkracht verminderd tot 0,2-0,5 790 5 0 85 i*.
f» 1 . 2 % bar. Na het verwarmen, die afhankelijk van de wanddikte van de buis ongeveer 30-250 seconden duurt, worden de verbindingsvlakken vrijgemaakt van het verwarmingselement. Bij het uitnemen van het verwarmingselement moet er zorgvuldig opfeelet worden, dat de verbindingsvlakken niet beschadigd of vervuild worden. Direkt 5 na het uitnemen van het. verwarmingselement worden de verbindingsvlakken tezamen gevoegd.
De insteldruk voor het tezamen voegen wordt overeenkomstig het normblad DYS 22 07 opgevoerd en blijft lang nawerken. De insteldruk wordt instand gehouden tot de afkoeling van de. lasnaad. 10 Pas na het afkoelen kan de spanning worden weggenomen. De bij het lassen ontstane verdikking heeft bij een goede lasbewerking het uiterlijk zoals in fig. 1 is weergegeven.
De bij deze wijze van werken gedwongen gevormde binnenver-dikking wordt als storend opgevat. Zij verhoogt het drukverlies, 15 bevordert de afzettingen van vaste stoffen, verhindert het trekken van kabels in beschermbuizen en zij vormt voor aangebrachte kabels een schuurplaats, enzovoorts.
Een latere mechanische verwijdering van de binnenverdikking kost veel inspanninge en is bij langere buisleidingen door de 20 onrondheid daarvan nauwelijks mogelijk.
De uitvinding heeft tot doel reeds gedurende het stomplassen ervoor te zorgen, dat de binnenverdikking zodanig wordt afgevlakt, dat enerzijds de genoemde nadelen van een uitstekende binnenverdikking worden vermeden en dat anderzijds de sterkte-eigenschappen 25 van de lasverbinding niet ongunstig beïnvloed worden.
De uitvinding bestaat uit een werkwijze voor het stomplassen van buizen uit thermoplastische kunststoffen met behulp van een verwarmingselement, waarbij de verbindingsvlakken van de te lassen buizen tegen een verwarmingselement worden gelegd en jq worden aangedrukt, de verbindingsvlakken aansluiten daarop worden verwarmd tot de lastemperatuur bij verminderde aandrukkracht en de verbindingsvlakken na verwijdering van het verwarmingselement onder druk worden samengevoegd.
De werkwijze volgens de uitvinding wordt gekenmerkt, doordat 35 790 5 0 85 3 ·* % gedurende het samenvoegen een elastisch inlegstuk drukt tegen de binnenste lasverdikking.
Ha het verwarmen en plastificeren van de te lassen buis-delen wordt het verwarmingselement verwijderd en worden de buis-einden in aanwezigheid van een elastisch inlegstuk, dat aanligt 5 tegen de binnenvlakken van de beide buiseinden, tezamen geschoven dan worden de buiseinden zoals gebruikelijk tegen' elkaar gedrukt en vastgelast. Terwijl de buitenverdikking als gebruikelijk wordt gevormd, wordt de binnenverdikking met behulp van het elastische inlegstuk vlak gevormd en heeft het uiterlijk zoals in 10 fig. 2 is weergegeven. De zo gevormde vlakke binnenverdikking verlaagd de sterkte-eigenschappen van de lasnaadverbinding niet in vergelijking met de gebruikelijke vrij gevormde binnenverdikking. In afhankelijkheid van de elasticiteit van het inlegstuk en de vormgeving van het gedeelde verwarmingselement kan de 15 binnenverdikking meer of minder vlak uitsteken. De vlak uitstekende binnenverdikking moet zover gevormd zijn, dat deze de oxidatie-lagen kan opnemen, die voor het lassen ontstaan zijn aan de vast te lassen kopvlakken.
Het verwarmingselement wordt op gebruikelijke wijze elek- 20 trisch verwarmd. Het is echter ook mogelijk het verwarmingselement te verwarmen met stoom of met een verwarmingsvloeistof.
De vorm van de binnenverdikking kan vooraf bepaald worden, doordat het elastische inlegstuk in het gebied, waarin de binnenverdikking moet ontstaan, voorgevormd wordt of door inwerken van 25 het gevormde ringvormige verwarmingselement zodanig wordt gevormd, dat de binnenverdikking bij het samenvoegen overeenkomstig deze vorm uitsteekt.
Voor een rationele wijze van werken verdient het de voorkeur het elastische inlegstuk vóór het aanleggen en aandrukken 50 van het buiseinde op de verbindingsplaats aan te brengen in de te lassen buizen, zodat het inlegstuk dan gedurende het opwarmen en samenvoegen steeds op de verbindingsplaats blijft. Het verwarmingselement moet hiertoe gedeeld zijn uitgevoerd om uit de lasplaats verwijderd te kunnen worden. 35 790 5 0 85
Claims (7)
1. Werkwijze voor het stomplassen van buizen uit thermoplastische kunststoffen met behulp van een verwarmingselement, waarbij de verbindingsvlakken van de te lassen buizen tegen een verwarmingselement worden gelegd en worden aangedrukt, de verbindings- 55 7905085 X vlakken aansluitend daarop worden verwarmd tot de lastemperatuur bij verminderde aandrukkracht en de verbindingsvlakken na verwijdering van het verwarmingselement onder druk worden samengevoegd, met het kenmerk, dat gedurende het samenvoegen een elastisch inlegstuk drukt tegen de binnenste las- 5 verdikking.
2. Werkwijze volgens conclusie 1,met het kenmerk, dat het elastische inlegstuk gevormd wordt door de binnenrand van het ringvormig uitgevoerde verwarmingselement, en bij het samenvoegen de binnenverdikking overeenkomstig deze 10 vorm glad uitstekend wordt gevormd.

Werkwijze volgens conclusie 1 of 2,met het kenmerk , dat het elastische inlegstuk voor het aanleggen of aandrukken op de verbindingsplaats in de te lassen buizen wordt gelegd en gedurende het verwarmen en samenvoegen steeds 15 op de verbindingsplaats blijft en een gedeeld, ringvormig ver-• warmingselement wordt toegepast.
4· Werkwijze volgens één of meer der voorafgaande conclusies, met het kenmerk, dat een elastische inlegstuk wordt gebruikt met een scheidingsdoorsnede of met 20 beginbreukplaatsen.
5· Werkwijze volgens één of meer der voorafgaande conclusies, met het kenmerk, dat als elastisch inlegstuk mosrubber wordt gebruikt, die aan de lasnaadzijde overtrokken is met een gladde laag butylrubber. 25
6. Werkwijze volgens één of meer der voorafgaande conclusies, met het kenmerk, dat het verwarmingselement overtrokken is met polytetrafluorethyleen.
7. Werkwijze volgens één of meer der voorafgaande conclusies, met het kenmerk, dat de te lassen 30 buizen bestaan uit polyetheen of polypropeen. 790 5 0 85
