Abstract

The blood storage bag for transfusion equipment has an aseptic passage comprising a base (16) which reinforces the bag, and a fluid outlet tube (18) extending from the base. A diaphragm (20), intermediate the ends of this tube, seals the contents of the bag. The diaphragm can be pierced by a pointed implement (28) to which a flexible tube is connected for drawing off the fluid. A shoulder (30) limits the penetration of the point. The shoulder, exit tube, diaphragm and base are injection moulded in a single piece from plastic material.
