Abstract

The system is for counting the wheels of passing rail vehicles. It is intended to speed up investigation into the wear of the tracks. The results enable predictions to be made with regard to the amount of wear. The data obtained froom the various points are transmitted to a central control where they are evaluated. A strain gauge bridge is spot welded between two support points under the rail root. The bridge is electrically connected to a circuit which determines the number of axles passing. It also classifies the loads on the axles. The measuring device is an amplifier (9) with a compensation and classification device (10) which incorporates counters.
