Abstract

The arrangement is intended for a multi-pulley belt transmission to equalise differences in transmission ratios between parallel belts due to different belt stretch and pulley tolerances. It makes use of differential gearing to eliminate the effects of these differences. It may be applied in belt transmissions comprising variable-diameter pulleys. It is claimed that this arrangement produces quiet running.
