Abstract

The frame protects crops against the rays of the sun, and comprises a sloping roof (2) supported on a number of columns (1). The roof consists of a plastic support with cladding reflecting infrared rays at least, and the frame is so set for use that the sunlight is intercepted by the roof as far as possible. The support can be a polyethene film resistant at least to infra-red rays, reinforced with polyester fibre. The reflective layer is a coating of aluminium deposited by the vaporising process. A protective covering layer can be applied to the aluminium. In use, the lowermost roof edge can be supported at a point where the uppermost edge of the next frame is.
