Abstract

A beach mat for sunbathing comprises a layer of plastic foam flexible enough to be folded or rolled and covered on one or both faces with a metallic coated plastic film. Pref. the area is of aluminised polyester film, producing a silver or gold colour and laminated to the foam with the metallised surface placed internally for protection from degradation or damage. Opt. the mat has metallised film on one face and a cloth cover on the other face. Useful as a sun tan aid, to use reflected radiation to complement incident radiation.
