Abstract

The terminal for an accumulator battery consists of a clamp body with a hole in the centre to fit over the pole of the accumulator. The object is to sustain a constant and sufficient electrical contact with the pole. There is a tapped hole (5), which extends radially from the inside surface of the central hole (2) capping the pole. A special screw or bolt is used to secure the clamp in the pole. There is also another round hole, diametrically opposite the tapped hole to engage the battery cable. The axes of the two round holes are at right angles to the axis of the central hole. The central hole is cone-shaped with longitudinal ribs (4) over part of the circumference.
