Abstract

The lifting equipment is partic. for handling freight containers, and has one or more winch ropes, reeved round one or more pulleys mounted on tackle engaging with the load. The tackle has one or more power-operated mechanisms. The pulleys (6) drive one or more power-generation units (27, 28) serving an accumulator (41), coupled by pipes to the power-operated mechanisms, which can be radio-controlled from a transmitter mounted in the control cabin etc. The power-generation units can be pumps, supplying hydraulic accumulators, and coupled by clutches to the pulleys, these engaging automatically at a preset tension in the rope.
