Abstract

The safety belt is particularly intended for children and is of the type which is connected with a fixing element (3) adjacent to the car seat via a releasable coupling (7), which element is itself fixed to the vehicle at one or more points (4, 6). The coupling (7) is provided with emergency operating means (8) with an operating member (12, 14) at one or more points, by means of which the coupling can be released. The operating means may comprise a strap (8) having two portions stitched together with a pull strip (12) between them which can be made to project through one or more of a number of holes in one or both straps.
