Abstract

The water sluice gate allows or halts the water flow through it as necessary. It incorporates a float (17) mechanically coupled (7-12, 15, 16) to the gate mechanism (6), so that when the water level (2) on one side (2) is too high this mechanism automatically shuts off the flow, reopening when the level concerned falls again. The gate body can act from above against a horizontal seat, and can be hollow, so as to have a flotation characteristic. There can be a certain amount of free play in the linkage between float and gate, and in the latter one or more auxiliary valves can be incoporated.
