Abstract

The lobed-rotor compressor has two or more rotors with profiled lobes engaging together and accommodated in overlapping cylindrical chambers in a housing. Gas feed and discharge ports are situated near the front and rear housing covers. Each rotor (1, 2) is built up of a number of discs with straight teeth (3, 4). The feed port (10) is formed in the front cover and the housing (5) where two or more discs overlap, and seen from the front end cover each disc is offset opposite to the direction of rotation in relation to the preceding one for an angle smaller than the arc through which a tooth extends.
