Abstract
The body of the pipeline comprises several layers of woven steel held by steel rings at intervals along its length. This assembly is encased in thick layers of vulcanised rubber, above and below, their outer surfaces enclsing an anti-rupture sheath also of steel wire. The flange coupling comprises two annular rings, the front one embedded in the lower vulcanised layer. The back ring has an inclined interface with the upper layer and both rings retain the anti-rupture sheaths. The ends of the woven layers are gripped between the two flange rings, provision being made for bolt fixing holes.
