Abstract

The strip is for use on buildings, and comprises a thin metal intermediate layer between two layers of bitumen, while between the metal and at least one of the bitumen layers is a plastic layer adhering to the metal. The plastic used is highly resistant to aggressive chemical substances. It can be a synthetic resin, applied to the the metal in the liquid and hardened by heating to a high temperature. The metal can be thin plate or foil of corrugated, grooved or honeycomb section, of aluminium or aluminium alloy. One at least of the bitumen layers can comprise two or more grades of bitumen with different yield and melting temperatures, to give temperatures from -20 to =100 deg. C over a long period.
