Abstract

Steel prestressing members of use in prestressed concrete constructional elements are protected by coating the steel with a continuous sheath of at least one relatively supple thermoplastic resin, e.g. polyethylene. Specif. the resin may be high pressure polyethylene and may form a layer 0.3-0.5mm thick. The layer may be applied to the hot steel elements by electrostatic precipitation of a powdered resin.
