Abstract

The parent specification described a dust extractor system used on exhaust gas in a steelworks, esp. the gas leaving the converter via a hood and chimney linked to a preliminary washer followed by a second washer using an annular slot, and where a supplementary suction pipe and fan are used to collect the gas evolved during the charging of the converter. In the present invention. the supplementary suction pipe joins the system between the first and second washers, the first washer functioning as a choke or provided with a choke valve. The first washer is now pref. an annular slot washer, the conical seat actign as a valve. This modification simplifies the original method for collecting gas evolved when the converter is charged.
