Abstract

Comprises cyclone of conventional design with tangential injecton of dirty gas into a vertical cylindrical jacket with base funnel and central upper exhaust for clean gas the dia. of the pipe being at most half that of the cyclone jacket and esp. less than one third of it. This exhaust is capped and a smaller dia. coaxial exhaust let into it leaving an annular gap from which a suction pipe leads to a smaller secondary cyclone in which the fines are extracted from the gas, the larger dust particles having been removed in the main cyclone.
