Abstract

Building panel with a lightweight core and tension-resistant skin. Plates in which (i) the core consists of a layer of cavity- or cell-contng. material, the cavities or cells forming a series of open connections between the boundary surfaces on each side of the layer and (ii) the skin plates consist of a layer of fibre-reinforced thermosetting resin on the outside of which is a layer of covering material advantageously with a film of thermoplastic material interposed between this and the thermosetting resin layer. A panel with a favourable weight to strength ratio is produced, which does nt warp even with large humidity and temp. differences, yet has a favourable material and production cost.
