Abstract

The mat is composed of bars intersecting at right angles and welded together, and is rectangular in shape. Along two or more adjacent sides of the rectangle the bars (5, 6) extend for an appreciable distance, to form ends for insertion in the formwork etc. Where the mesh is of square section, the length of the protruding ends can be at least twice that of the side of the square. The intersecting bars can be of the same cross-section. The design allows a number os cuh mats to be joined together without any thickening of the assembly at the edges and corners, in addition to which the builder can assemble them in a large number of different patterns, using only the one standard mat.
