Abstract

UNSATURATED SILOXANE AND EPOXY RESIN AS COATINGS HARDENABLE BY RADIATION. M1-. (a) Olefinically alpha,beta-unsaturated siloxane formed from a siloxane containing at least two functional groups chosen from -OH or hydrocarboxyl groups reacted with a hydroxy-ester of an olefinically alpha,beta-unsaturated carboxylic acid, and (b) an olefinically alpha,beta-unsaturated epoxy resin, are used as a coating composition. Compositions with good weather resistance are used for coating wood, metal and solid polymers. The siloxane may have 3 to 18, pref. 3 to 12 Si atoms, and contains the links -Si-O-Si- or -C-O-Si. The hydrocarboxy groups are pref. alkoxy groups with 1 to 4 C atoms, particularly -OCH3.
