Abstract

Foldable tool for shaping hollow plastic articles has coaxial annular body parts with parallel faces directed towards each other, a number of segments forming a foldable section, radial guide devices between the body parts and segments, an axial tube fastened tot he body parts, and cam devices that can be moved reciprocably along the axial tube, their movement in one direction displacing the segments from their wholly pushed out position. The fitting ends of the segments are shaped so that a first series of alternating segments is radially displaceable relative to a second series consisting of the remaining segments, and the cam devices have such a shape that during the movement of the segments from their wholly pushed-out-position the first series is withdrawn before the second series, and the second series being wholly withdrawn into the spaces between the parallel faces of the body parts. Can be easily folded for withdrawing from articles without requiring dismantling.
