Abstract

Lock plate and casing of plastics, screwed in door cavity contains spring biased day bolt mechanism, which engages into a striker plate fixture with a recessed back pale plate and front mounted permanent magnet. Front portion of day bolt is of magnetic material which on day bolt locking action is attracted by permanent magnet mechanism. Opening is achieved by operating a tumbler mounted on a square spindle connected to a handle. Lock also contains a key operated night bolt which has a casing mounted drive disc supported by 4 equispaced peripheral pins, and has a protruding peripheral lug which engages a recess in the bolt block. A magnet attracts bolt downwards when lug is not engages in recess.
