Abstract

Cyclic process for prepn. and use of a hydroxylammonium salt (I) soln, in which an aqs. acidic reaction medium is cycled between a (I) synthesis zone and an oxime, esp. cyclohexanone oxime synthesis zone, is effected by (a) catalytically reducing nitrate ions in the (I) synthesis zone with a Pd-on-C catalyst or a Pd/Pt-C catalyst and H2, (b) supplying nitric gas, which is formed in situ by absorption of nitrous gases in amt, corresp. to amt. of used nitrate ions, into the recycled reaction medium, (c) regenerating used catalyst by sepg. from the process liquid and treating with hot water at >70 degrees C, and (d) recycling the regenerated catalyst to the (I) synthesis zone.
