Abstract

Pantihose is mfd. from two symmetrical halves each of which is formed by an extra long circularly knitted stocking of elastic yarn, e.g. nylon in the top end of which an incision is made along which the two halves are then stitched together to form the panty part. Textured yarn thread is supplied to the needle and the shuttle of a sewing machine and stitched without feed of the material so that the threads are stitched together into a cord or chain, after which the joint seam of the two stockings is produced on the same or a different sewing machine with simultaneous insertion of the cord or chain in this seam.
