Abstract
Cyclohexanone and hydroxylammonium slt solution are reacted in presence of solvent for the oxime using counter-current principle. Oxime is continuously separated from the reaction mixture and recovered in two-stage reduced pressure distillation. Preferred solvent is toluene. Removal of solvent from oxime requires pressure of 40 mm. Hg. or less, temperature 120 degrees - 140 degrees C. First distillation reduces solvent concentration to 5-20 mole %; remainder of solvent removed at lower pressure in second distillation.
