Abstract

Block bags optionally provided with a filler valve are produced by (a) placing two lengthwise incisions from one end of a tubular film part to form two corner flaps and two bottom flaps, (b) inwardly folding the corner flaps around the diagonal lines running between the incision terminal point and the tubular film lengthwise edge, (c) folding the bottom flaps around a transverse fold line before or after the introduction of a separating element, (d) fixing together the corner flaps and the bottom flaps, and (e) operating a welding device to form bottom lengthwise and transverse welded seams. Before the inwards folding of the bottom flaps an end part is removed, and the flaps are folded around a transverse fold line running parallel with the end of the bottom flaps, in the part of the uncut tubular film part following on the incision terminal points.
