Claims (18)
1. Een werkwijze voor het produceren van een gesinterd doodgebrand magnesium oxide (dead burned magnesia (DBM)) met een hoge dichtheid vanuit een waterige slurrie van magnesiumhydroxide of een gemengde magnesiumhydroxide / magnesiumoxide slurrie, met het kenmerk dat T1O2 en grafiet worden toegevoegd aan de waterige slurrie elk in een hoeveelheid van 0.05 tot en met 0.5 procent, bij voorkeur 0.1 tot en met 0.3 procent op basis van gewicht van het magnesiumhydroxide.
2. Werkwijze volgens conclusies 1, waarin de waterige slurrie ongeveer 40 tot en met ongeveer 70 gewichtsprocent magnesiumhydroxide droge stof bevat.
3. Werkwijze volgens conclusies 1 of 2, waarin T1O2 en grafiet in een onderlinge gewichtsverhouding in het bereik tussen 1:3 en 3:1 worden gebruikt, bij voorkeur in het bereik tussen 1:2 en 2:1.
4. Werkwijze volgens een der conclusies 1-3, waarin T1O2 en grafiet in hoofdzaak in gelijke hoeveelheden worden gebruikt.
5. Werkwijze volgens een der voorgaande conclusies, waarin T1O2 en grafiet worden gebruikt in het bereik van ongeveer 0.1-0.3, bij voorkeur 0.15-0.3 gew%, bij grotere voorkeur elk in een hoeveelheid van ongeveer 0.2 gew%.
6. Werkwijze volgens een der voorgaande conclusies, omvattende de stappen van (i) het laten reageren van een magnesiumzout-pekel of zeewater met een bron van calciumoxide, bij voorkeur dolime (CaO.MgO), teneinde magnesium in hydroxidevorm te laten precipiteren, gevolgd door (ii) het bereiden van een waterige slurrie van magnesiumhydroxide en magnesiumoxide (Mg(OH) / MgO) omvattende de additieven Ti02 en grafiet (iii) het calcineren van de magnesiumhydroxide bij een temperatuur van 500-1000°C om een caustisch gecalcineerd magnesiet te produceren; en (iv) het sinteren van het caustisch gecalcineerd magnesiet bij een temperatuur van 1600-2000°C, bij voorkeur 1700-1900°C, om doodgebrand magnesiumoxide te produceren.
7. Een gesinterd doodgebrand magnesium oxide (dead burned magnesia (DBM)) verkrijgbaar middels een werkwijze volgens een der conclusies 1-6.
8. Een gesinterd doodgebrand magnesium oxide met een hoge dichtheid, welke ten minste twee, bij voorkeur alle, van de volgende eigenschappen bezit: a) een MgO gehalte van 97-99 gew% b) een dichtheid van ten minste 3.50 g/cm3 c) een kristalgrootte van ten minste 90 microns.
9. Een gesinterd doodgebrand magnesium oxide met een hoge dichtheid omvattende een kristallijne fase omvattende of bestaande uit een gemengde Mg0:Ca0:Ti02 samenstelling, bij voorkeur in a relatieve verhouding van 1:1:1 tot 1:2:2.
10. Een vuurvaste samenstelling voor het vormen van gevormde vuurvaste stenen, de samenstelling omvattende een gesinterd doodgebrand magnesium oxide met een hoge dichtheid volgens een der conclusies 7 tot 9.
11. De vuurvaste samenstelling volgens conclusie 10, waarin de samenstelling een MgO gehalte van ongeveer 50-95% heeft.
12. De vuurvaste samenstelling volgens conclusies 10 of 11, omvattende een bindmiddel, verdere gemengde metaaloxiden en/of hulpstoffen.
13. De vuurvaste samenstelling volgens een der conclusies 10-12, in de vorm van vermalen deeltjes.
14. Een gevormd vuurvast artikel omvattende een vuurvaste samenstelling volgens een der conclusies 10-13.
15. Vuurvast artikel volgens conclusie 14, zijnde een vuurvaste steen.
16. Een oven omvattende een bekleding omvattende een vuurvast artikel volgens conclusie 14 of 15.
17. Toepassing van een vuurvast artikel volgens conclusie 14 of 15 voor het bouwen of herstellen van een bekleding/wand van een oven.
18. Oven volgens conclusie 16 of toepassing volgens conclusie 17, waarin genoemde oven is gekozen uit de groep bestaande uit een vast vuil verbrander, een cementoven, een staalpan, een gloeioven, een verwarmingsoven en een hoogoven.
