Description
TankstationGas station
The invention relates to a petrol filling station and the like comprising a storage tank for fuel, an underground liquid-tight container in which the storage tank is placed, pipes connected to the storage tank for transporting fuel to and from the storage tank, at least of which a pipe is connected to a filling station which comprises at least one pump unit.
The fuel tanks are coupled with fuel supply and discharge pipes, which are passed through liquid-tight housings that open into the liquid-tight space. This system provides that spilled fuel can be collected in the underground liquid-tight container in which the fuel tanks are arranged. The filling station is disposed in a location away from the storage tanks. Such a filling station generally comprises a plurality of pumping units, such as, for example, shown in US-A-5,454,205. A known problem is that the fuel spilled during refueling disappears into the ground. This problem is solved in US-A-5,454,205 by placing the filling station on a leak-proof floor, over which the coming and arriving traffic using the filling station moves. A drawback of the filling station which has been built up according to the state of the art with provisions to counteract environmental pollution as a result of leakage losses as much as possible is that this requires expensive facilities, such as these combined from US-A-4,978,249 30 and US- Have A-5,454,205 read.
It is now an object of the invention to simplify the construction of a filling station of the type described in the preamble, thereby achieving cost savings, but without thereby making concessions to environmental protection measures aimed at preventing soil contamination as a result of leakage losses.

The filling station according to the invention is therefore characterized in that the liquid-tight container is placed under the filling station, wherein it is provided with means for receiving fuel leaked during refueling in the container. Despite the fact that gas stations have been known for a long time and the attention to environmental pollution has received extensive attention in any case since the early 1970s, it has never been proposed to use the storage tanks, at least the liquid-tight container in which these tanks are placed, to be placed directly under the filling station.
In doing so, the expensive leak-proof floor as proposed in US-A-5,454,205 can be completely dispensed with, since it is possible to take full advantage of the leak-proof properties of the liquid-tight container in which the storage tank is placed.
The invention also offers an advantage in the circumstance that when it is provided with an above-ground structure, such as an awning roof and / or a space where the tanked fuel is settled, it is preferably designed in such a way that the structure is founded on the liquid-tight bin. The size of the foundation required under the filling station can thus be limited to the part that is already necessary for the foundation of the liquid-tight container in which the storage tank is placed.
The invention will now be further elucidated with reference to the drawing, which in Figs. 1 and 2 shows the filling station according to the invention in cross-section and longitudinal section.
Like reference numerals 30 used in the figures refer to like parts.
The filling station 1 according to the invention is intended for filling petrol, diesel, LPG and the like, and comprises an underground storage tank 2 for the fuel in question. The storage tank 2 is placed in a liquid-tight container 3 placed in the ground. It is not shown that pipes are connected to the storage tank 2 in a manner well known to those skilled in the art for transporting fuel to and from the storage tank 2. At least one pipe, namely the pipe serving for transporting fuel from the storage tank 1 01 0755 3 is coupled to the above-ground filling station 4, which comprises at least one pump unit 5. As is clearly shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the liquid-tight container 3 is placed under the filling station 4, the collection container 3 being provided with means for receiving fuel leaked during refueling. For this purpose, openings can for instance be provided in the finishing floor 6, through which the fuel can flow into the liquid-tight container 3. This can be carried out in a manner known to those skilled in the art, and is not further shown in the figures.
The filling station 1 can further be provided with an aboveground structure in the form of an awning roof 7 or a building where the refueled fuel can be paid for. In the figures, only a construction in the form of an awning roof 15 is shown. In a certain aspect of the invention, such a construction can be directly founded on the liquid-tight container 3. Depending on the situational conditions, the liquid-tight container 3 itself can be founded with piles 8.
