Description
SandwichstijlSandwich style
The invention relates to a post provided with two opposite wall parts, which wall parts can comprise longitudinal slots 5 for receiving fasteners of panels to be fixed against the post.
It is known to attach wall or ceiling panels to posts formed from roll-formed or metal profiles. These profiles can be provided with longitudinal slots for receiving fastening members such as, for example, spring lips of the wall panels. Such profiles are described, for example, in Dutch patent application number 1003064 in the name of the applicant. Another system uses a screw mounting, in which the profiles are mainly flat.
A drawback when using the known box-shaped posts, in particular when forming partitions, is the propagation of sound via the posts. Furthermore, the closed roll-formed profiles are relatively expensive.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a style in which good sound insulation is ensured and which can be manufactured in an inexpensive manner. It is a further object of the present invention to provide a style that is sufficiently rigid and has a high degree of fire resistance.
For this purpose, the post according to the present invention is characterized in that the post comprises a core of a pressed fiber material, the wall parts being formed by two separate, substantially U-shaped profiles, with a front face and two side faces located transversely of the front face against side surfaces of the core, the profiles being connected to the core by means of an adhesive and the side surfaces of the opposite profiles not touching each other.
It has been found that by pressing a fiber material, preferably rock wool, a flexible core can be obtained to which the U-shaped profiles can be glued. Because the side surfaces of the profiles do not touch each other, sound vibrations are damped by the core. Preferably, the fiber material is pressed to a density between 50 and 500 kg / m3, preferably about 100 kg / m3. A sufficiently firm core is hereby obtained while retaining »1 008084 2 sufficient sound insulating properties.
Preferably, the fibers in the core are oriented substantially perpendicular to the front surfaces of the profiles. Sufficient tensile strength is hereby obtained in a pulling direction perpendicular to the front surfaces 5. The fibers will tend to loosen from the core in the longitudinal direction of the posts, but are held in place here by gluing with the profiles.
By using stone wool as a core, a cheap and fire-resistant style is obtained with a material saving of approximately 30% and an improvement of the sound-insulating properties of approximately 20 dBA compared to known roll-formed tubular styles, while retaining a sufficient structural rigidity.
The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the single appended figure. In the figure, a post 1 is shown to which a wall panel 2 ii is attached. The wall panel 2 comprises a plasterboard which can be clamped against the post 1 by means of a clamping bracket 3 with spring lips 4,4 '. Two adjacent panels 2 can be placed seamlessly against each other with their front sides 5. The post 1 comprises two U-shaped profiles 6,6 '. Each 20 profile is provided with a front surface 7,7 'and two side surfaces 8,9; 8', 9 '. Front surfaces 7,7 'and the side surfaces 8,9; 8', 9 'are glued to a core 10 which is formed from glass wool fibers. The fibers 11 are oriented perpendicular to the front surfaces 7,7 '. The front surfaces 7,7 'are provided with two parallel receiving slots 12,13 with a dovetail cross section. The profiles 6,6 'are preferably formed from metal such as sendzimer with a thickness of 0.6 mm. However, the profiles 6,6 'can also advantageously be formed from a plastic material. It has been found that good results are obtained with a core 10 of rock wool compressed to a density of 100 kg / m3. An advantageous rock wool is formed by Ca-Mg-Al rock wool fibers, bonded with a small amount of phenol-formaldehyde resin, as produced by Rockwool Lapinus B.V. Because the side walls 8,8 'of the opposite profiles 6,6' do not touch each other, good sound insulation is obtained. Due to the aforementioned density of the core, the sound vibrations are adequately damped while a sufficient structural strength of the post 1 is maintained. A suitable adhesive for securing the metal profiles 6,6 'to pi 0080 84 3 the stone cloud core 11 is commercially available under the designation Rockwool 300, which adhesive is composed on the basis of polyurethane prepolymer.
Tevens is het mogelijk de vlakken 7,7' van de profielen 6,6' vlak uit te voeren voor een schroefverbinding met de wandpanelen 2.Although the use of rock wool for the core 10 is preferred, it is also possible to use a different sound-insulating fiber material for this purpose, such as glass wool, flax or wool. It is also possible to design the surfaces 7,7 'of the profiles 6,6' flat for a screw connection to the wall panels 2.
