Abstract
La presente invención está dirigida a un método para mejorar la proporción de formación de los productos de reacción de un ácido carboxílico y una urea la fórmula: donde R1, R2, R3 y R4 son iguales o diferentes y se seleccionan del grupo que consiste en hidrógeno, grupos alquilo, alilo, vinilo y alcoxi sustituidos y no sustituidos que tienen de 1 a 6 átomos de carbono, grupos fenilo sustituidos y no sustituidos y los haluros. La proporción de formación se mejora al agregar ácido a una solución que incluye al ácido carboxílico y la urea. Preferentemente, el producto de reacción de la presente invención es N-N'-diformilurea o N-N'-diacetilurea. Se descubrió que estos productos de reacción, p. ej. diformilurea, producen crecimientos significativamente mejores en una variedad de productos agrícolas cuando se aplican a la semilla, al suelo circundante o al follaje de la planta emergente.
