Abstract
A paint application and drying device (2) for performing paint application and drying on a steel strip (S) being transported continuously includes: a transport unit (4); a paint application unit (6); an oven (8); an exhaust unit (10); a concentration measurement unit (12); and a controller (14), wherein the controller (14) calculates a predicted reaching concentration (D3) based on the organic solvent concentration (D2) measured by the concentration measurement unit (12), and when the predicted reaching concentration (D3) is equal to or more than a predetermined threshold concentration (D4), performs control to stop paint application by the paint application unit (6) while continuing the transportation of the steel strip (S) by the transport unit (4).
