Abstract

The present invention relates generally to a crank gear cutting tool (100) for harvesting fruits including picking palm fruits, trimming branches and leaves of palm trees and the like. The crank gear cutting tool (100) includes: a) a drive pinion (13) connected to a driving shaft (50) and in communication with a ring gear (23); b) a shaft (3) adapted to receive a cutter blade (1) and coaxially aligned with the drive pinion (13) through a crank mechanism (110); wherein the crank mechanism (110) includes a crankshaft (24) accommodated in the ring gear (23), and a connecting rod (28) is being sandwiched in between a crank (29) and the crankshaft (24), such that said connecting rod (28) is pivotally linked to a needle roller bearing (26) at one end, and to the shaft (3) by a shaft pin (11) at the other end; and wherein the crank mechanism (110) converts rotating motion of the driving shaft (50) into a linear reciprocating movement of the shaft (3) in a manner that the longitudinal axis of the shaft (3) and the axis of the driving shaft (50) are coaxial; and wherein the shaft (3) is provided with an oblong shaped through slot (35) where a guide pin (18) passes through and detachably fastened to a case (12) such that it is able to counter torsion forces exerted on the shaft (3) during the cutting.
