Abstract

A repair joint (100) having a novel structure that is usable to satisfactorily carry out a sideways immersion process is provided. The repair joint (100) includes a main repair joint body (110) that is used to connect end parts of subaqueous cables (200) together, and a movable engaging part (120) that is provided on an outer periphery of the main repair joint body (110) and movable in a circumferential direction with respect to the main repair joint body (110), and engaged by a sling (402) that hangs the main repair joint body (110).
