[PROBLEM) IN A DECOMPRESSION UNIT OF AN ENGINE IN WHICH AN EXHAUST ROTATABLY SUPPORTED BY A CYLINDER HEAD IS PROVIDED WITH AN EXHAUST CAM AND IN WHICH A DECOMPRESSION WEIGHT TURNABLY SUPPORTED BY THE CAMSHAFT VIA A DECOMPRESSION PIN HAVING AN AXIS PARALLEL TO THE CAMSHAFT HAS A DECOMPRESSION CAM CONNECTED THERETO, THE DECOMPRESSION CAM BEING ABLE TO PROTRUDE FROM THE BASE CIRCULAR PORTION OF THE EXHAUST CAM, THE DECOMPRESSION UNIT IS MADE COMPACT SO AS TO REDUCE THE SIZE OF THE CYLINDER [SOLUTION] A DECOMPRESSION PIN (55) IS ARRANGED INSIDE THE OUTER PERIPHERY OF THE HIGH PROTRUDING PORTION (40B) OF AN EXHAUST CAM (40) WHEN VIEWED FROM THE AXIAL DIRECTION OF THE CAMSHAFT (30).
