Abstract

THE PRESENT INVENTION RELATES TO A GREEN EMITTING PHOSPHOR, AND PARTICULARLY TO A GREEN EMITTING PHOSPHOR WHICH HAS HIGH COLOR PURITY AND GOOD LUMINANCE SATURATION CHARACTERISTICS UNDER HIGH CURRENT DENSITY. THE PRESENT INVENTION PROVIDES A GREEN EMITTING PHOSPHOR COMPRISING ZnS:Cu, Au, Al PHOSPHOR AND TERBIUM ACTIVATED RARE EARTH PHOSPHOR. IN PARTICULAR, TERBIUM ACTIVATED RARE EARTH PHOSPHOR IS AT LEAST ONE PHOSPHOR SELECTED FROM Y3 (Al, Ga)5O12:Tb PHOSPHOR AND LaOCL:Tb PHOSPHOR. THE PHOSPHOR OF THE PRESENT INVENTION IS ESPECIALLY APT TO A LARGE SIZED COLOR CATHODE RAY TUBE AND IS EXPECTED TO HAVE CONSIDERABLE VALUE FOR USE IN INDUSTRY.
