AN ELECTRON GUN FOR A CATHODE RAY TUBE INCLUDES A CATHODE, CONTROL GRID (G1), A SCREEN GRID (G2), AND AN OPPOSED ANODE (G4) AND FOCUS ELECTRODE (G3) FOR CONTROLLING AND ACCELERATING A PLURALITY OF ELECTRON BEAMS, THE ANODE (G4) AND THE FOCUS ELECTRODE (G3) INCLUDING RECESSES (PR) (RR) CONTAINING ALIGNED CENTRAL BEAM PASSING HOLES (3G, 4G) AND PAIRS OF PERIPHERAL BEAM PASSING HOLES (3R), (3B), (4R), (4B) ON OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE CENTRAL BEAM PASING HOLES (3G) (4G). THE PERIPHERAL BEAM PASSING HOLES (3R) (3B) (4R) (4B) ARE INTERSECTED BY PLANES OF THE RECESSES (PR) (RR) THAT ARE INCLINED RELATIVE TO THE ELECTRON BEAM PASSING DIRECTION. (FIG. 3)
