Abstract
Un hidroseparador para separar particulas con base en las diferencias de velocidad de sedimentacion, por ejemplo para separar la ceniza del yeso, incluye una pared lateral practicamente cilindrica encerrada en su extremo inferior mediante un piso. Un flujo ascendente laminar se crea a traves del hidroseparador al agregar agua de dilucion a la parte inferior del hidroseparador y al eliminar la mayoria del agua de dilucion anadida de la parte superior del hidroseparador. El hidroseparador esta dividido en al menos dos secciones mediante una mampara que se extiende alrededor del interior de la pared lateral. En el centro del hidroseparador esta ubicada una entrada ligeramente por encima de la mampara, de tal forma que el material que se va a separar y, que se anadio al hidroseparador se inserta en la seccion del hidroseparador totalmente rodeada por la mampara. La velocidad del flujo ascendente se controla. de tal forma que no sea lo suficientemente rapida para provocar que las particulas de yeso de mayor velocidad. de sedimentacion se eleven pero que sea lo suficientemente rapida para provocar que las particulas de ceniza que tienen menor velocidad de sedimentacion sean levantadas con el flujo ascendente. El flujo ascendente separa asi a la ceniza del yeso y hace flotar la ceniza hacia la parte superior del hidroseparador en donde es retirada en el derrame. Se proporciona un agitador en la porcion inferior del hidroseparador para distribuir uniformemente al agua de lavado y para mantener fluido al yeso.
