Description
PROFILE DEVICE AGAINST THEFT AND A BAND PROFILE TO APPLY ON THE SAME
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to a device against theft profile for a panel, which is movably mounted with respect to a frame, comprising two elongated profiled bands for the respective connection to the panel and the frame such bands cooperating mutually, at least when they are in the assembled state, in order to cover a crack between the panel and the frame, at least in the closed position of the panel. The invention also relates to a profiled band to be applied to such a device. Such a profile device is generally employed in the case of doors and windows, which are attached to a frame in order to be able to rotate or slide, and is generally made of metal or other robust material. In such a scenario, one of the two bands is mounted on the closing side of the window or the door, while the other band is joined near the cornice of the frame. In the closed state of the panel, the two bands engage, or otherwise cooperate in such a manner as to completely cover the crack between the panel and the outer frame. The cracking in the present is made inaccessible to a crowbar, lever or other instrument with which the panel can be forced out of the frame. A device of the type set forth in the preamble is known from an international patent application in the name of the current applicant, which is open to the public for inspection under number 89/04907. The device described therein comprises two profiled metal strips which, at least in the closed state of the panel, close around each other on the closing side of the panel at the site of the crack, thus closing the crack. The bands are mounted on the outside of the panel, and thus, make the crack externally inaccessible to a crowbar or other similar instrument. As such, the known anti-theft profile devices offer an effective prevention against theft. However, in many cases, known devices are such that the screws or fastening members with which the bands are joined can also have access in the closed state, in the case of one or both bands. For this reason, organs against theft should be used, which are relatively expensive and which do not allow subsequent adjustments of the band. It is true that the known device of two U-shaped bands does not have this disadvantage, but the coverage of the mounting holes in such a device, makes the assembly considerably more difficult, especially in the case of the band, which will be attached to the frame. Among other things, it is an object of the invention to provide an anti-theft profile device of the type set forth in the preamble, wherein the joint openings are completely covered in the closed state, and which do not suffer from this disadvantage. A further object of the invention is to provide a device of profile against theft of the type established in the preamble, which consists of two profiles of the same form and consequently offers industrial-economic advantages. Another object of the invention is to provide a profile device of the type established in the preamble, which is relatively compact. A further object of the invention is to provide a profile device of the type set forth in the preamble, which, if desired, can be adjusted with relative ease. Furthermore, it is an object of the invention to provide a profile device of the type set forth in the preamble, which offers an increased prevention against theft. Up to now, a profile device of the type established in the preamble is characterized according to the invention in which both profiled strips comprise a U-shaped profile with a short projection and a long projection., and that the long projection comprises an inward ring, so that the long projection comprises two parts - which are practical and mutually parallel and which, at least through the thickness of the profile, are in displacement with respect to one another. of the other and pass to the other through the ring. The fact that both bands in this device are of the same shape is of great advantage from the point of view of the production of the profile, so that it is no longer necessary at present to adapt machines or to employ a second mold, relatively expensive, thus resulting in faster production and, consequently, lower costs. However, the device according to the invention not only leads to obvious economic and industrial advantages: the device also offers excellent anti-theft properties. In the closed state of the panel, the long projection of each of the bands lies on the short end of the other band. The bands in the device consequently demonstrate a double closure, by means of which, for the profile device according to the invention, in the closed state of the panel, the mutually located cracks between the two bands are virtually inaccessible to one lever or the other. similar instrument. Not only is the crack between the panel and the frame, in the closed state of the panel, thus making it inaccessible to a lever or other similar instrument, but, importantly, the same device is internally inaccessible, thus creating an additional barrier. As a result, the profile device offers a double protection against theft, and must be double agitated to open in order to reach the crack between the panel and the frame. In addition, the device according to the invention can not be removed on a band-to-band basis: in order to remove the device, it must work concurrently on both bands, which act as an additional retarding means against theft. The mounting holes, and the fixing members located therein for the purpose of joining the bands, are also completely hidden in the closed state, and thus are inaccessible. As a result, ordinary screws can be used as the fixing members. Not only are regular screws considerably less expensive than one-way anti-theft screws, but normal screws are also easier to handle for the do-it-yourself purpose. An additional advantage of the use of normal screws is thus, if desired, that the bands can be advanced through the loose and tight screws as desired, which considerably simplifies the subsequent adjustment. Furthermore, the invention is successful in realizing this combination of advantages in an extremely compact and particularly lightweight form, which is not highly desirable from an aesthetic point of view but, above all, always allows the device according to the invention to be fixed during practice between an existing frame and any door or window that may be present. In addition, the inclinations of the bands lead to a stability and additional resistance of the same, so it is possible to achieve both a prevention against increased theft and savings in the material. In order to simplify the assembly of the bands in the case of this preferential mode, a first part of the long projection of the U-shaped profile preferably extends beyond its short projection. In this way, the mounting holes, which are created in the first part of one of the two profiles, and the screw or connecting members placed therein, are always directly accessible to a screwdriver or other suitable instrument placed in angles straight to it. This considerably simplifies the assembly compared with, for example, the known device of two bands with purely U-shaped., wherein the mounting openings in one of the two bands are only accessible to such an instrument at an angle. During practice, it can be seen that the bands on the device sometimes stretch with respect to one another after a long use, which can prevent the opening and closing of the panel in some cases. The subsequent adjustment of the bands in the known profile device is, however, virtually impossible. A preferred embodiment of a anti-theft profile device according to the invention is less sensitive to this stretching tendency and, above all, is in no way impeded when it comes from a subsequent readjustment of the device. This preferred embodiment is characterized in accordance with the invention in that at least one of the profiled bands is provided with a number of slotted openings for receiving fastening members for the purpose of joining the band, and in which the slotted openings extend in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the band. The inventors have recognized that the stretching of both bands with respect to one another is caused by the expansion and contraction of the frame, and particularly the panel, as a result of varying weather conditions. Assuring, in accordance with this embodiment, that at least the band to be joined to the panel is joined thereto through the aforementioned slotted openings, it is possible to adapt the expansion and contraction compartment of the same in the fixing openings. at least the panel, thus removing the main cause of the long-term stretching of the bands. In addition, thanks to the slotted holes, and the possibility of using fixing elements
"ordinary" (ie not against theft) the band can be adjusted with relative ease at any time. In a particular embodiment, both profiled bands are modalized with slotted openings, which extend in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the profile associated therewith. In this case, the occurrence of twisting in the panel, as well as any twisting in the frame, can be adapted in the slotted openings, and both bands can, if desired, be subsequently adjusted, which is an immediate advantage during placement Of the device. In the interest of optimum bonding of the bands, the slit-like apertures in them are preferably arranged at regular distances along at least the entire length of the band. The invention will now be described with the aid of a number of embodiments and a perspective drawing in which: Figure 1 represents a preferred embodiment of a theft-profile device according to the invention; Figure 2 represents a first profiled strip of the device in Figure 1;
Figure 3 represents a second profiled band of the device in Figure 1. The figures are purely schematic, and are not drawn to scale. In particular, some dimensions are greatly exaggerated for the purpose of clarity. The corresponding parts in the drawing are denoted by the same reference number, whenever this is possible. In figure 1, a theft-protection device is used on an inwardly hinged panel 3, such as a window or door, for example. The device comprises two substantially identical profiled strips 1, 2, which are shown separately in Figures 2 and 3. The use of identical strips, as far as possible, is particularly economical from the point of view of technology of manufacture, since it is only necessary to use a mold or roll of relatively expensive manufacture. A first band 1 of both bands is mounted on the outer part 31 of the panel 3, and a second band 2 is attached to the frame 4. For purposes of clarity, only the closing sides of the panel 3 and the frame 4 are shown. bands 1, 2 both comprise a U-shaped profile with a short projection 8 and a long projection 9. The long projection 9 of this shape is provided with an inward ring 93, which acts as a transition between two parts 91, 92 parallel to each other, these parallel portions 91, 92 ~ lie in movement with respect to one another across at least the thickness of the web. In the closed state shown in panel 3, both profiles 1, 2 are locked, so that the long projection 9 of each of the profiles 1, 2 lies on the short projection 8 of the other profile. In this way, not only is the slit 5 between the panel and the frame properly sealed, but also above all, the same device is internally inaccessible to a lever or other similar instrument, so that an additional barrier is created and, in addition , the fixation organs can not be reached from the outside. The strips 1, 2, therefore, can be joined using "ordinary" fixation members, such as screws or nails, and thus the use of anti-theft variants thereof is not needed. Not only does this lead to a significant reduction in costs; in addition, the fixing screws can be screwed loose and screwed tightly one at a time, which simplifies the subsequent adjustment of the bands 1, 2. Furthermore, the split 51 between the same bands is, as a result of the fact that its entrance is facing towards the panel 3, practically inaccessible to a lever or other similar instrument, as a result of which the represented device offers a prevention against theft particularly suitable. further, the device obtains these advantages in a particularly compact form, which is among other things of importance from an aesthetic point of view, and which almost always allows the device to be used together with an existing door unit or advantage. In order to prevent the two bands 1, 2 by themselves being forced to separate by using a lever or other instrument, the space between them must in principle be as small as possible. Therefore, the play between both bands 1, 2 is only light. As a result of the unavoidable effects of weather, the rack 4 and the panel 3 in particular, both will contract and expand to a certain degree. In order to avoid the consequent displacement of bands 1, 2 with respect to one another, with the significant risk that, in the long term, panel 3 will not open or close properly, it is preferred, as in this embodiment, modalizing the first band 1 with slotted mounting openings 6, which extend in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the band 1 and with which the band 1 is attached to the panel 3. In the interest of rigid joining, the openings of assembly 6 in this manner are arranged at regular distances along substantially the entire length.
As a result of the grooved shape, the screws "7 have some play in the openings 6, whereby the panel 3 can be twisted in the transverse direction without the first band 1 being displaced with respect to the second band 2. If, a Despite this, the first band 1 is displaced, so that the panel 3 can not be opened and closed freely, then the band 1 can be adjusted at any time, thanks to the slotted shape of the openings 6. This also guarantees a satisfactory opening and closing of the panel during operation, since the panel 4 is twisted to a considerably smaller degree in the transverse direction than does the panel 3, and since the axial displacement of the second profile 2 has less effect on the mobility of the panel 3, it is usually not necessary to provide slotted holes therein, and the conventional round openings for the screws or fastening means 7 will be sufficient for the joining of the second ba However, if desired, it is also possible, as in this example, to provide the second band 2 with grooved mounting openings, analogous to the openings 6 in the first band 1. The mutual dimensions of both projections of the U-shaped profiles, which are responsible for the fact that the first part 91 of the long projection 9 of the second band, together with the slotted openings in it extend beyond the short projection 8 ~ (see Figure 5). ), therefore simplifies the assembly task, since the openings 6 are thus completely exposed, and the fixing members can have continuous access from a perpendicular direction. In this way, you avoid having to hammer the nails or screw the screws at an angle. Although the above invention is further described using only a few modalities, it will be apparent that the invention is in no way restricted to the examples presented. On the contrary, there are many variations and possible forms of work within the scope of the invention. For example, in all the examples presented, both bands or only one of the doe bands may be odalized with slotted openings for the purpose of band bonding. Furthermore, it is possible in the case of the profile device according to the invention to provide conventional round joining openings in both constitution bands. The device thus conserves the advantages pertaining specifically to said modality. In general, the present invention provides an anti-theft profile device, which is relatively insensitive to a possible expansion and contraction behavior of the panel and which, above all, leads to an easy subsequent adjustment. In addition, an anti-theft profile device is provided, which offers exceptionally effective anti-theft prevention in a relatively compact manner.
