Abstract

Se describen productos de gene HSV-2 UL26, esencialmente puros, y fragmentos de los mismos, que incluyen proteasa de HVS-2 madura y sus fragmentos activos. Los productos de gene HSV-2 UL26.5 y sus fragmentos, incluyendo la proteina de capsido HSV-2 madura y sus fragmentos funcionales, tambien estan descritos. Se describen moleculas de acido nucleico que comprenden la totalidad o parte del gene HSV-2 UL26 y/o el gene HSV-2 UL26.5. Los vectores de expresion y las celulas anfitrionas que comprenden dichas moleculas de acido nucleico, tambien se describen. Se describen metodos para identificar compuestos que inhiben la actividad de proteasa de HSV-2 y los metodos para identificar los compuestos que inhiben el ensamble de viriones de HSV-2. Se describen substratos sinteticos de HSV-2. Se describen anticuerpos que se unen selectivamente a substratos procesados de proteasa de HSV-2, pero no a substratos no procesados; o a substratos no procesados pero no a substratos procesados. Se describen metodos y estuches para distinguir entre el ADN o la proteina de HSV-2 y el ADN o la proteina de HSV-2, asi como los reactivos utiles en dichos metodos y estuches.
