Abstract
Se describen sistema de proyeccion de un solo elemento de formacion de imagen que sufren de bajo rendimiento de luz, en comparacion con sistemas de tres elementos de formacion de imagen, debido a que solamente una banda de color es iluminada a la vez. Como resultado, hay necesidad de incrementar la eficiencia de operacion del sistema de proyeccion de un solo elemento de formacion de imagen. La invencion es concerniente con la incorporacion de un pre-polarizador de alta proporcion de extincion, tal como un polarizador en multicapas compensado, en un sistema de proyeccion de un solo o doble elemento de formacion de imagen. Esto permite iluminacion con luz de iluminacion de bajo numero f y asi incrementa la eficiencia del sistema de proyeccion. El pre-polarizador puede ser incorporado dentro de una unidad de recuperacion de polarizacion para mejorar adicionalmente la eficiencia del sistema.
