Abstract

Un sistema de comunicacion inalambrica provee un metodo y aparato para traspaso con continuidad ("soft handover") y traspaso entre sectores pertenecientes a una misma estacion base ("softer handover") de una unidad inalambrica de transmision/recepcion (WTRU) entre dos o mas estaciones base y/o sectores de estacion base. Una unidad de control de red asigna estaciones base seleccionadas para transmitir datos de comunicacion a la WTRU en base a la WTRU que esta dispuesta en un rango geografico de servicio de una estacion base o de un sector de la estacion base. Un receptor detector conjunto (JD) de la WTRU esta configurado para recibir y procesar una o mas senales de datos inalambricas en cada una de una serie de tramas de tiempo donde cada senal recibida dentro de una ranura de tiempo comun tiene una unica codificacion de canal de los mismos datos de comunicacion. El receptor JD tiene una pluralidad de estimadores de canal que estiman senales recibidas dentro de una ranura de tiempo comun y un combinador configurado para decodificar y combinar los estimados de canal para derivar una senal de datos resultante.
