Abstract
Un metodo y aparato para cargar baterias incluye utilizar un rectificador de entrada para recibir una entrada ca y proporciona una senal cd. Un convertidor recibe la senal cd y proporciona una salida de convertidor. Un circuito de salida recibe la salida de convertidor y proporciona una senal de carga de bateria. Un controlador controla de manera preferible el convertidor para correccion de factor de energia. El sistema puede incluir multiples circuitos de salida, utilizados ya sea en forma individual o al mismo tiempo, y disenados para uno o mas voltajes. Estos pueden ser removibles. De preferencia, la salida de convertidor tiene una magnitud independiente de un rango de magnitudes de la entrada ca, y el rango puede ser, por ejemplo, por lo menos un factor de dos o por lo menos dos voltajes de servicio publico. El controlador incluye un modulo de programa de carga que recibe retroalimentacion, tal como retroalimentacion de voltaje y/o de corriente y7o retroalimentacion de temperatura. El circuito de salida, tal como un convertidor cd-cd, es controlado en respuesta a la retroalimentacion en otras modalidades. El tipo de bateria puede ser detectado o introducido por un usuario, y la carga efectuada en respuesta al tipo de bateria. Se incluye de manera preferible un sensor de bateria defectuosa, con un indicador notorio para el usuario.
