Abstract

Para liberar a fluidos, incluyendo fluidos de hidrocarburo tanto gaseosos y liquidos, de compuestos de azufre que incluyen sulfuro de hidrogeno, oxidos de azufre y tioles, la presente invencion utiliza una pequena cantidad de un activador, generalmente un oxido de metal noble, preferiblemente de la especie del cobre y/o de la especie del manganeso, con un producto de oxido conocido, como oxido de hierro, hidroxido de hierro, oxido de zinc, hidroxido de zinc, oxido de manganeso, hidroxido de manganeso o combinaciones de los mismos, para remover profusamente los contaminantes de azufre en una cantidad de tiempo corta; el activador permite el uso de contenedores de reactor mas pequenos y la produccion de fluidos de hidrocarburos sustancialmente libres de productos de azufre.
