Abstract
La presente invencion tiene por objetivo las novedosas enzimas que poseen una actividad de arogenato-deshidrogenasa, en particular las enzimas arogenato-deshidrogenasa de plantas, asi como los genes que codifican para estas enzimas. Las enzimas arogenato-deshidrogenasa de acuerdo a la invencion catalizan la ultima etapa de la via metabolica de la biosintesis de la tirosina, y contituyen, de este modo, objetivos potenciales de herbicidas. La presente invencion se refiere pues igualmente a un procedimiento de indentificacion de los componentes herbicidas que tienen por objetivo estas enzimas, los compuestos hervicidas que impiden la biosintesis de la tirosina fijandose sobre dichas enzimas. La invencion tiene igualmente por objetivo las plantas transgenicas tolerantes a estos compuestos herbicidas que tienen por objetivo una enzima implicada en la via de la biosintesis de la tirosina, en particular una enzima implicada en la transformacion de prefenato en L-litosina, en particular una enzima arogenato-deshidrogenasa. Estas plantas se vuelven tolerantes por la expresion en sus tejidos de una enzima prefenato.deshidrogenasa, siendo esta enzima insensible a los compuestos herbicidas, y permitiendole a la planta sintetizar la tirosina a pesar de un tratamiento con dichos compuestos herbicidas.
