Abstract
La presente invenciones refiere a una estructura de PTFEe de micropared de alta densidad con retencion a la sutura y resistencia radial incrementada y a un metodo para producir la misma. El material de la invencion tambien logra una reduccion considerable en el espesor de pared y porosidad. El metodo de manufactura involucra la manipulacion de un injerto de pTFEe extruido estandar. El injerto es colocado dentro de un tubo restrictivo y es dilatado como globo a aproximadamente cuatro veces su diametro original, despues de lo cual se coloca sobre un mandril conformado de manera similar que proporciona un ajuste de apriete. Este mandril cargado se coloca dentro de un laminador en donde la pared entera del injerto es movida entre placas metalicas hasta quedar suficientemente laminada. El mandril cargado se coloca entonces dentro de un horno o estufa calentado a una temperatura superior al punto de fusion cristalino del PTFE para bloquear los cambios dentro de la microestructura. El producto final tiene las caracteristicas deseadas de espesor de pared reducido, alta densidad resistencia radial superior a la promedio y retencion a la sutura aumentada.
