Abstract

Se describe un procedimiento para la produccion de acetato de t-butilo y la co-produccion de acetato de metilo o acetato de etilo, directamente a partir de MTBE o ETBE, a traves del contacto de una mezcla de acido acetico, anhidrido acetico, y MTBE, o alternativamente ETBE, con un catalizador acido. A diferencia de la tecnica, se describe una via que emplea un t-butilo como el material de inicio para la produccion deseada o la co-produccion de acetato de t-butilo. Tambien a diferencia de la tecnica, el anhidrido acetico se emplea para reaccionar con el agua de formacion a partir de la reaccion de esterificacion para controlar la formacion de control del alcohol t de cerca -butilico.
