Abstract
Un proceso para el tratamiento y licuefaccion d gas natural a presion elevada incluye primeros medios de intercambio de calor (102,104,10o), primer medio de expansion (108) medio de separacion liquido-gas (110), medio de compresion (114), medio de refrigeracion (118), un segundo medio de intercambio de calor (120), un segundo medio de expansion (122) y una unidad de expansion subita de GNL (124). Los gases expandidos subitamente que salen de la unidad de expansion subita (124) de GNL podrian pasar a traves de ya sea el primer o segundo intercambiadores de calor (102,104,10o,120), o desviarse externo alternativo de los gases expandidos subitamente en combinacion con la produccion de GNL. Description
PROCESO PARA TRATAR Y LICUAR MEZCLAS GASEOSAS TAL COMO GAS NATURAL
Descripción de la Invención Esta invención se refiere al tratamiento de gas natural, incluyendo su conversión a productos útiles.
En particular la invención se refiere a un proceso para combinar procesos con la licuefacción de gas natural a gas Natural Licuado (GNL) de una forma más eficiente en el costo.
Se descubrió gas natural y está disponible en partes del mundo donde la demanda local es más baja que la tasa económica normal de producción. Por Fo tanto es ventajoso licuar el gas natural para formar GNL, el cual puede transportarse después, usualmente por medio de recipientes que van por mar, diseñados específicamente con el objeto de llevarlo a regiones donde la demanda de gas natural es mayor. Frecuentemente las fuentes de gas natural están mar adentro, resultando en la localización ventajosa de la instalación de licuefacción de gas natural cerca de localización de producción de gas. Típicamente una instalación de licuefacción involucra un esquema donde el gas se REF.119953 extrae de un número de instalaciones, tanto de agua profunda como de agua superficial.
Antes y durante el proceso de licuefacción es necesario retirar varios compuestos, encontrados normalmente en el gas natural para evitar que solidifiquen después de la licuefacción y que obstruyan los sistemas de distribución y control. Típicamente tienen que removerse agua y dióxido de carbono, así como hidrocarburos de fracción superior. Una alimentación típica de gas podría tener la siguiente composición 80-85% mol de Cl; 5-10% mol de C2; 2-8% mol de C3 y 1-5% mol de C4+ (gases ácidos, agua, y otros constituyentes se excluyen por conveniencia) , pero la invención también podría aplicarse a composiciones fuera de estos intervalos.
El proceso de licuefacción requiere típicamente que la alimentación se . enfríe a aproximadamente menos 160 grados C, lo cual requiere cantidades significantes de energía e inversión del equipo principal.
Es un objetivo de la presente invención proporcionar un proceso de licuefacción y tratamiento que sea más eficiente en energía. También es un objetivo de la presente invención proporcionar un proceso de licuefacción y tratamiento que pueda producir un rango de subproductos alternativos.
De acuerdo a la invención se proporciona un proceso para el tratamiento y licuefacción de gas natural a presión elevada, incluyendo un primer medio de intercambio de calor, primer medio de expansión, medio de separación líquido-gas, medio de compresión, medio de refrigeración, un segundo medio de intercambio de calor, un segundo medio de expansión y una unidad de expansión súbita de GNL, caracterizado porque los gases expandidos súbitamente que salen de la unidad de expansión súbita de GNL pasan a través de ya sea el primer o segundo intercambiadores de calor y~se desvían a un uso externo alternativo de los gases expandidos súbitamente en combinación con la producción de GNL.
Preferentemente, el medio de refrigeración se proporciona por una unidad en cascada de propano/etileno . Preferentemente los gases de la expansión súbita se desvían a una planta de metanol, la cual incluye preferentemente procesos adicionales de olefina. Los gases de la expansión súbita también podrían desviarse a una planta de generación de electricidad.
Varias modalidades de la invención se describirán ahora en más detalle con referencia a las siguientes figuras, en las que:
La Fig. 1 es un diagrama de flujo en bloques que muestra la alimentación de un proceso de licuefacción y tratamiento de una primera modalidad de la invención de un número de fuentes, La Fig. 2 es un diagrama de flujo en bloques que muestra una segunda modalidad de la invención, La Fig. 3 es un diagrama de flujo de tubería que muestra la distribución del proceso de una. modalidad adicional de la invención, La Fig. 4 es un diagrama de flujo en bloques que muestra una modalidad adicional de la invención, y Las Figs. 5 y 5a son diagramas esquemáticos de un arreglo de intercambio de calor alternativo.
Con referencia a la fig. 1, el gas natural se proporciona de una o un número de instalaciones de producción, incluyendo cabezales de pozos submarinos que alimentan a las plataformas de producción flotantes así como plataforma de producción de agua superficial y aún fuentes con base en tierra. El gas natural se alimenta en la planta de proceso o zona de almacenamiento de acuerdo a esta primera modalidad, que comprende la producción y almacenamiento de GNL combinado con producción de metanol y producción de energía eléctrica. El metano también podría usarse para otros procesos tal como un proceso Fischer Tropsch, o la producción de bio-proteínas .
Por medio de un desarrollo combinado de plantas de proceso independientes, requeridas normalmente para producir separadamente GNL, metanol y energía eléctrica en una utilización y conversión de gas, la zona de almacenamiento proporciona una reducción significativa del costo total. Los procesos separados de plantas de licuefacción de GNL, plantas de metanol y plantas de energía utilizan gas natural y se diseñan para, y requieren, operar continuamente bajo condiciones de diseño y de control muy cuidadosas. Los sistemas combinados de la presente invención también requieren diseño cuidadoso para proporcionar tolerancias suficientes para considerar la variabilidad causada, por ejemplo, por cambios en la composición de la alimentación y controlan cuidadosamente las dependencias de cruzar el límite de batería entre el proceso de GNL y otros procesos.
La Fig. 2 muestra un diagrama de flujo en bloques para una planta combinada de GNL y metanol de acuerdo a una segunda modalidad de la invención.
La Fig. 3 muestra un diagrama de flujo más detallado de una tercera modalidad, que muestra una planta que trata gas alimentado de gases "ácidos", tal como C02 y H2S, H20 e hidrocarburos pesados, estabiliza el condensado, licúa el gas alimentado y libera metano puro para los consumidores. El gas de alimentación entra a la planta en 100, las cuales son Unidades de Endulzamiento de Gas y Deshidratación. Estas podrían ser un proceso de amina para remoción de ~C02 y H2S, seguido de un sistema de Tamizado Molecular y deshidratación.
El gas de alimentación pasa entonces a través de una serie de tres pre-enfriadores de gas alimentado; un Primer Pre Enfriador de Gas Alimentado 102, un Segundo Pre Enfriador de Gas Alimentado 104 y un Tercer Pre Enfriador de Gas Alimentado 106.
El gas pasa después a un Expansor de Gas 108 El expansor de gas conduce directamente al compresor 114 en una etapa subsecuente. El gas de alimentación pasa después a un separador líquido-gas 110. El gas separado en el separador 110 regresa al segundo pre-enfriador 104 y pasa a través de un cambiador de calor gas/líquido 112. Y después pasa al Compresor de Gas 114 y subsecuentemente a una conexión Te en 116.
El líquido separado en el separador 110 pasa directamente al mismo cambiador de calor gas-líquido 112, seguido por un separador de líquido adicional 126. El gas separado en éste pasa a un compresor 128. Y después a una conexión Te 116. El líquido separado en el separador 126 pasa al estabilizador de condensado 130 y las fracciones superiores se comprimerr por medio de un compresor que regresa vapor sobrecalentado 132 y pasa a través de un enfriador de gas sobrecalentado 134 antes de unirse al resto del flujo en la conexión Te 116. Las fracciones inferiores pasan a través del estabilizador de condensado y salen en el fondo como condensado estabilizado.
La alimentación de gas principal continua de la conexión Te 116 a una unidad de refrigeración 118. Esto podría comprender una unidad en cascada de propanó/etileno, una unidad de un ciclo de refrigeración multi componente, u otro dispositivo similar. El gas alimentado entra al evaporador de refrigerante y se enfría a aproximadamente -104°C. Esta temperatura es suficiente para licuar más de 70% vol del gas alimentado tratado en seco a presiones elevadas. La alimentación continua a un expansor de líquido 122 y después entra en un recipiente de expansión súbita de GNL 124. Una corriente de gas sobrecalentado 26 se produce en el recipiente de expansión súbita 124 y se pasa a través del sub enfriador de líquido 120, en la línea de alimentación 27, al tercer pre enfriador 106 y por vía de la línea de alimentación 29 al primer pre enfriador 102. Este producto final de los gases de expansión súbita de la planta de GNL sale entonces por vía de la tubería 34. El gas expandido súbitamente es predominantemente un gas rico en metano con nitrógeno, y tiene la calidad requerida como gas de alimentación para las plantas de metanol y de energía.
Una planta de metanol de escala mundial típica requiere de una alimentación de 30 a 45 millones de metros cúbicos estándar de gas natural. Se requiere la purificación de gas que involucra la remoción de pesados y sólidos. Combinando una planta de GNL con una planta de Metanol hay un enorme potencial de ahorro en sub enfriamiento de líquido en la planta de GNL y purificación de gas en la planta de Metanol.
Las turbinas de generación de energía industriales, como se usan en plantas de energía de ciclo combinado, requieren gas combustible de valor calorífico estable para eficiencia óptima. El gas de expansión súbita tiene alta pureza y composición estable, y de este modo es altamente adecuado como gas combustible para las turbinas industriales.
Los volúmenes de gas asociado de mar adentro de Angola, por ejemplo, son de tal orden de magnitud que convirtiéndolo todo a Metanol el suministro total mundial de Metanol sería significativamente más grande que su demanda. Sin embargo, una planta de Metanol a escala mundial suministraría metanol crudo como alimentación a e.g. un proceso de Olefina de UOP/Hidro Metanol, produciendo productos de valor comercial más alto como Etileno y Propileno.
Para tasas de alimentación más altas se requieren instalaciones adicionales. Estas podrían ser plantas de energía, negro de carbón, bio-proteínas, etc.
Una estación de energía cerca de la costa conectada por un cable de energía mar adentro a una Red de Energía en tierra podría utilizar volúmenes grandes de gas natural. La demanda de electricidad está en aumento en muchas partes del mundo.
La Fig. 4 es un diagrama de flujo en bloques que muestra un esquema de flujo propuesto para una zona de almacenamiento de gas para utilización y conversión, con producción de GNL, metanol y energía. Los productos laterales son condensado estabilizado y GLP grado comercial. Las proporciones de metanol y energía producidos podrían variar y optimizarse, psx ejemplo, conforme cambian sus precios relativos.
La Fig. 5 y 5a muestran respectivamente arreglos para utilizar la temperatura relativamente baja de los gases de la expansión súbita, en la fig. 5 por un número de cambiadores de calor en serie (como se muestra en la Fig. 3), y en la fig. 5a usando un cambiador de calor multi-corriente, tal como cambiadores de placas y aletas o de espiral enrollada. En ambas figuras una primera línea 27, 29, 34, y una segunda línea 19, 20 corre del recipiente de expansión súbita y fluye a través del medio de intercambio de calor para absorber energía de la línea de alimentación 1, 17. Los dos arreglos son idénticos en función.
Para una alimentación típica de 25 a 30 millones de metros cúbicos estándar por día de gas natural, esta planta produciría: GNL: 5 . 4 MT PA Metanol : 900 000 TPA Energía El: 780 MW Propano : 1 500 rnVdí a Butano : 1 600 mVdía Condensado : 2 650 mVdía
Se hace constar que con relación a esta fecha, el mejor método conocido por la solicitante para llevar a la práctica la citada invención, es el que resulta claro de la presente descripción de la invención.
Claims (6)
1. Un proceso para el tratamiento y licuefacción de gas natural a presión elevada, que incluye un primer medio de intercambio de calor, primer medio de expansión, medio de separación líquido-gas, medio de compresión, medio de refrigeración, un segundo medio de intercambio de calor, un segundo medio de expansión y una unidad de expansión súbita de GNL, caracterizado porque los gases expandidos súbitamente que salen de la unidad de expansión súbita de GNL pasan a tr"avés de ya sea el primer o segundo intercambiadores de calor, y se desvían a un uso externo alternativo de los gases expandidos súbitamente en combinación con la producción de GNL.
2. Un proceso de tratamiento y licuefacción de gas natural de conformidad con la reivindicación anterior, caracterizado porque el medio de refrigeración se proporciona por una unidad en cascada de propano/et ileno .
3. Un proceso de tratamiento y licuefacción de gas natural de conformidad con cualquier reivindicación anterior, caracterizado porque los gases expandidos súbitamente se desvían a una planta de metanol.
4. Un proceso de tratamiento y licuefacción de gas natural de conformidad con la reivindicación 3, caracterizado porque la planta de metanol incluye procesos de olefina adicionales.
5. Un proceso de tratamiento y licuefacción de gas natural de conformidad con cualquier reivindicación anterior, caracterizado porque los gases expandidos súbitamente se desvían a una planta de generación de electricidad.
