Abstract

Un metodo y un aparato (4) para medir la densidad relativa de un gas, por ejemplo el gas natural, en el cual el gas es distribuido a traves de una entrada (8) a la camara (6) y sale a traves de la salida (10). Utilizando un control (16) y un emisor transductor ultrasonico (12) y un receptor transductor ultrasonico (14) se calcula la velocidad del sonido en el gas, corregida a las condiciones estandar (sc), entonces el control (16) opera para medir la densidad relativa RD del gas utilizando la Formula RD = a x SoSsc + b, donde SoSsc es la velocidad del sonido del gas corregida a condiciones estandar, y a y b son constante.
